Slackline!
Posted by johnssdeere on April 30, 2014 at 8:27 amAt a recent trip to the pediatrician with the kiddos I was reading the article pinned up in the exam room about Slacklining… Ummm amazing! I proposed it to the husband for us and the kiddos especially, but he thinks I’m crazy. Any experiences with Slacklining?

I’ve never heard of Slacklining before. The bounces and flips are pretty cool… great for balance and I bet it takes a great deal of stamina and strength as well – thanks for sharing! Bet the kids would LOVE it!!

I’ve not done it but my 24-year-old former gymnast, rock-climbing niece does it and loves it. It’s on my list of things to try but since I barely have time for my silks and pole I’ve held off on adding this to my repertoire.

I spent a summer trying to learn how to slackline. I could barely walk a couple steps (no bouncing or flipping for me Thanks! ) but it is great for the core and balance even just to try standing on it.
I will say it is MUCH harder to put up the slackline then you would think. Takes some practice just to get it up, but it’s a blast and if you do it in a public place like a park you’ll get so many curious people asking you about it. I had people bring their kids over and we’d hold their hands so they could walk the line. 🙂 -
My rockclimbing boyfriend slacklines. He’s really good at it. For me, it’s so hard just to get ON the thing, let alone take a couple steps. Definitely takes a lot of practice if balance isnt your forte, but I can see how it’d be fun, and great for practicing balance.
And when you’re out of balance/finding balance, the whole line shakes like crazy 😛 its kinda nerve wracking hahaI say try it!
