    I’m really want a stage pole because of the versatility of it and my ceilings are so tall, but don’t know which company to go with! I’m so confused.. I love the light up star stand alone and that they have a brass option that is grippy, fast set up, more room for floor work!Ive read so many reviews some very good and some very bad!Anyone have experience with the star stand alone/platinum stages coustomer service recently? The reviews I read were from 2011 I haven’t found anything more recent than that. Any advice/experience will be much appreciated girls!!!

    PS is trying to change their image once again. They know they have issues. For a short time they had someone really good but they ended up getting rid of her and went back to their SOS. Things to note: PS standard pole is only about 6 foot so if you want more pole you will need to pay for more extensions. X is heavy but the pole is about 9 feet right out of the box. I still personally do not trust the PS poles because the base is just too light for my weight and height.

    I love my star stand alone. My pole is just under 8 feet and I have a two foot extension. I can’t use the extensions inside because my ceilings aren’t high enough. I don’t like the noise that came with the bottom of the x stage light and I can’t move them by myself. I will say I am having a bearing issue with my star stand alone, but they are supposed to be fixing it. They have a new light kit coming out, it has already been released in Australia, but I’ve yet to see it on the US website. It really just comes down to personal preferences when purchasing poles. Have you used both of them? I was fortunate enough to have access to both prior to buying.

    @chemgodess1 how tall are you?? I’m 5’11 155 pounds

    @johnssdeere I have not used either unfortunately. That’s one of the things that puts me off about the xstage, that it would be loud because the base is metal 🙁 they don’t have any lighting kits for the transparent base?? How long have you had your star stand alone? Is it the 4.0?

    Yes it is the v4 with quick connect. It’s very similar to how the x stage pieces go together. But the base is much different.

    Are there any disadvantages to the ssa base in your opinion?

    The last piece can be a pain. I can be putting it together for two minutes or 20 minutes. The last piece can be a pain, but my husband can get them all in correctly like its nothing.

    I am 5’8″. When I invert on the ssa my feet are over the top of the pole. I cannot use a 6 foot pole comfortably.

    I don’t mind paying for more extensions I wanted the pole to go up to about 10 ft anyway 🙂

    I think the max safe height for the ssa is 8 feet (don’t quote me on that). The X comes already at 9. The other big question is the material the pole is made of.

    I hate to bring this up, but look up Veena’s SSA vs X video. while this was a previous version of the pole, the only major difference in design is how the pole pieces go together. I would link it however I am on my phone.

    On the site it says there is a 3ft piece and 4ft piece so 7ft is the lowest then it goes to one pieces going from 8, 9, and 10 ft. I’ve seen that video before, and liz m’s video of her running across the room and not tipping it and two other videos of two people trying to tip it like veena’s husband did in the video and it not tipping in those videos.. Some people on here have said that the brass ps poles are good for grip and lord knows I need grip, the xpole only comes in chrome and from what I’ve read chrome isn’t so good for sweaty hands.

    I don’t know where you live but I would highly suggest seeing if anyone has either near you. I know people who love their SSA’s and I know people who love their X’s. I personally would not want either as my main pole. They are great for performances and if you have ridiculously high ceilings where you cannot have a pole made and installed safely.

    Yea that’s the problem, the lowest ceiling in my place is 10ft 4 inches… And it’s upstairs in the loft. A stage pole just seems more useful I could put it in my living room or my bedroom.. I found out that lil mynx charges 4-500 dollars for a custom cut 🙁 I LOVED my old lil mynx pole. I might just dish out 500 for a regular lil mynx… I’m so indecisive 🙁

    I have the 3.0 in my garage and I still like mine. I have the 2 foot extension but I had thought about getting the 10 foot one piece. It does wobble and Im told the xstage wobbles less but I love the simplicity of the ps. I would like to try the xstage but I am def happy with my purchase.

    Honestly, I think you’d be better off getting a floor to ceiling pole with a permanent ceiling mount (they can be removed if you move.) The stages are nice for performing, but they have a lot of flex, they are annoying for floor work, they take up a ton of space, and they need parts replaced periodically (like the bearing unit for instance.) Stages are not meant for regular practicing.

    The floor to ceiling poles are lighter, take up less spae, allow for floorwork, etc.

    Just my 2 cents.
