Pole Shoes HELP! Regular Patent Leather OK for Pole?
Posted by kimmie0893 on February 11, 2014 at 6:43 pmI unfortunately can’t afford the pole shoes that I want, because I just bought my pole 🙁 Plus, I don’t really like the clear kind. I like patent leather with straps, somewhat like the picture attached. Does anyone know if that will work on a pole or do I have to wait for regular pole shoes. Also, does anyone have any opinions about those foot cover things with tack?

the patent leather looks like it would stick really well to the pole. the pole will leave scuff marks on your shoes no matter what kind you wear and the marks are permanent. an ankle strap is good because it will keep your shoes from flying off while you are dancing or spinning, climbing. the strap on this particular shoe is very thin and is in a place where I think it might snap easily. the platform is very nice because it is easier on your feet. the heel on this shoe is also very thin and I would worry about it breaking. Pole shoes have reinforced heels. my plastic ones have a metal piece that runs through the heel. the main thing is your safety. I haven’t danced in these kind of shoes so I’m not sure how they would handle the abuse from poling. Pole dancing is very hard on your shoes. I haven’t used the foot cover things you mentioned, but I would also like to know what others think of them.

Thanks for your feedback lilredrobinhood! Ok, so I should look for something with a thicker reinforced heel? Do you have any suggestions as far as where to shop for a cheaper pole shoe? They’re soooo much more expensive than I had expected.

I haven’t seen shoes that cheap, unless you get lucky and find someone local selling some in your size that you like! I do recommend these shoes, they are 40: http://www.snaz75.com/el-601-juliet.html

I love those!!! I found a coupon on the site for 20% off, which makes them 31.99 (plus shipping). Thank you soooooo much! Are these reinforced? I can’t tell.

These are Pleaser Funtasma. Does anyone know if these are considered pole shoes? I am just so lost.

Yes, they are real ‘pole shoes’ so you’re good. So are the funtasma shoes. 🙂

Thank you so much sparrow! I’m definitely buying them 🙂

yay! I’m glad you found something 🙂 Pleaser and Ellies are considered pole shoes. that’s great that you found a coupon. the universe was listening to you. haha! you might be able to find some on ebay too, I just don’t know how you would be able to tell if they are the real thing , ya know.

Are the ones I posted true pole shoes? The heel is not that thick.

You can really wear whatever you want for pole shoes, the thing is some of the stripper heel brands are higher quality then others and will last longer. Even some of the high quality brands have had quality complaints, f you want stripper heels that will last, avoid heels with lots of thin straps, they seem to be the most fragile. Pleaser and Ellies are good options. I sometimes like to wear my ballroom heels as well.

I have Funtasma brand shoes and love them.

Thank you everyone! I am so encouraged by all of the answers and suggestions. I am very very new to this and can tell that I chose the right site and got a great community!

Legs4Days- The heels look like they have a metal rod going through them if you look at it closely. I would consider that pretty reinforced! Those would work for pole, though most people like a higher platform. I know that is the style fitness models typically choose.

I was actually wondering the same thing about a pair of boots I want to buy. They are thigh high pleather boots, not patent leather though. I am trying to decide on which would be best for stick. They are pleaser brand shoes:
Thigh High Black Pole Dancing Boots 7Inch Heel
