First the Midwest convention and competitions have a new title sponsor this year…Lovers Lane!!!

Online video application is now open and the final deadline for submissions is 11:59pm CST on June 15th. This is an absolute deadline…even one minute late and we must decline the application.

    Tips for applying:
Online valuation will be as follows:

    1. Artistry – 10 points
    creativity, aesthetically pleasing, expressive, imaginative

    2. Execution & skill – 15 points
level of difficulty, variety of moves at all levels, variety of floor work, tricks, spins and transitions, musicality etc

    3. Form & fluidity – 15 points
point, extension, alignment, musicality, control, fluidity of moves and transitions, etc

    4. Presentation – 10 points
music choice, costume, attitude, style, visual personality

Note that Execution & Skill and Form & Fluidity are weighted more than artistry and presentation for the online round. While more advanced skills are important, especially for the elite divisions, polish and form are the most important criteria. We would prefer to see clean lines than sloppy or have way there moves. Judges will not be impressed with an "almost" iron x but more impressed with clean lines, solid strength and beautiful form as well as someone who chooses their moves wisely knowing their abilities…not trying to show what they can "almost" do.

Feel free to ask any questions you like here or private mesage me or email me at In**@****************ng.com. I am happy to answer all questions as I am not a judge and do not make the final decisions.

There are two competitions happening that weekend at the convention:

Midwest Elite (pro) and Essential Pole (amateur) are both only open to Midwest residents

North American Elite (pro) and Masters (age 40 and over) are open to all residents of the US, Canada and Mexico.
