  • Platinum Stages Permanent spinning VS Competition spinning pole?

Posted by JenLFG on March 25, 2013 at 7:55 am

i am looking into getting a new pole, i want a Platinum Stages brass pole. before i buy i would like to know if anyone has used both their "Permanent spinning"  & their "Competition spinning pole" i see them both on their site, both are permanent mount, all i can tell from reading about them is one has a few more screws to mount it with (& cost more). has anyone here used both? if so are there any other differences?

    thanks!

If I recall correctly, the competition pole is a lined pole and will be more rigid (also heavier…think shipping costs)

Their site is blocked from me at work so I cannot confirm that.

I believe the main difference is that the competition poles are heavier duty and go up to taller heights (which is why they need to be heavier duty).   If you're not getting a very high pole, the regular spinning ones are probably fine.

As always, call the manufacturer for the final word, though.

I had sent them an email through their site & also asked on their Facebook but still haven’t gotten a response :-/ I really want to know what the difference is because I’m ready to order 🙂 whatever one I get will be a 10 foot & I know I want a 1 piece pole that will screw in the floor & ceiling forever 😀 tension mounted poles make me nervous :-/
Can’t wait to get my new pole 😀

Make sure you get the pole bolted securely to your proper anchor points. A permanent pole can fall too if improperly installed! I know Veena herself experienced a bolted pole coming down while she was on it, she’s related that story on the forums a few times before. It is so amazing to be able to have a nice permanent pole space, though! I so look forward to that day. 🙂

Oh yeah, I’ve already climbed in the attic to double check that beam/stud & I’m going to get extra boards cut to screw in there (from the attic side) to make it even more stable 😉 I had a 9ft permanent pole at my old house & I broke screws (attatched to the ceiling) from time to time… I think I’m rough when I learn new stuff, lol.

If the pole isn't going to be too high, then a competition pole shouldn't be necessary. Their regular poles are fine for homes up to a certain height.

I have a 10 foot ceiling for my pole room 🙂 I called platinum & asked them what would be best & they said the 45mm @ 10 feet tall could have a little “give”… I noticed on their site they sell a 45mm that is 12 feet tall & it isn’t the competition grade… I’m still confused! Lol.
All I know is I want a spin/static 45mm in brass that mounts permanent & is one solid piece.

I would love to hear from someone who has a 10ft platinum stages 45mm permanent pole 🙂

I have used the ps one piece at 10′ as well as poledanzer static/spin one piece poles at 10′. I will say that at the 10′ mark, poledanzer poles are the most “solid feeling” I have used. They are also the fastest/smoothest spinning I have used…those poledanzers spin do fast and so smooth they will toss your candy ass across the room if you aren’t ready LOL

Was the 10ft platinum stages pole a 45mm? & did it feel like it had a lot of give? I want a 45mm since I like that best, I just looked at pole danzer & they don’t have a 45mm 🙁

My hubby said he would get me the competition version of the platinum stages pole if I feel like I need that to be safe BUT with shipping & all it’s gonna be like $630 & I really don’t want to spend that much if I can just get the normal one for $440. I believe it would be safe since they sell them up to 14feet in a brass 45mm spinner but idk & I’ve never used that brand.

I would buy the same brand I have used the past 4 years& have 2 of (hardcore pole / pole Waxers) but for some reason she won’t sell to me anymore… Really not sure what’s up with that. The hard core poles are super solid & I can’t imagine anything being more “solid feeling” or spinning any smoother/faster.

… I can’t edit the last thing I said on my phone but I want a 45mm brass 10 foot & pole danzer doesn’t make one like that. The do make a 45 in stainless but stainless is too slick for me in most days. I have used brass in a few occasions & loved it!

Call Poledanzer.  I believe that he is making 45 brass now but does not have it on his site.

Yay! My hubby just ordered my 45mm brass pole from platinum stages for me for my birthday & our anniversary gift 😀 I went with the regular one instead of the competition one, after I talked to PS they made me feel better about getting that one & no real need to get the competition one 🙂 yay!
