so i auditioned for a pole show with two of my friends and we were selected to dance our trio as a featured performance YAY! 😀

BUT now one of my friends, due to some bad circumstances has to drop out.  I tried hard to find a replacement for her, but had no luck.  after much brainstorming, me and the remaining dancer figured out how to make it a pretty cool duet.  but I have to break the news to the director of the show now and I'm not sure how she'll take it.

has anyone else experienced this?  I'm not sure how productions handle situations like this…

    organizing a trio is hard!

I’ve never experienced that, but seeing as how you’ve already worked out how you can manage with just 2 of you, could you show the director a portion of your performance to prove that it will still be amazing?

i wasn't sure how the routines were selected- how important was it that we were a trio?  did that factor in the selection process and how does that affect the show overall if we were no longer with a third person?  would a different trio have been selected??

I talked with the director and it turns out- lucky me- there were no duets in the show, and another trio, so it all worked out 😀

You should have contacted the director as soon as you were no longer a trio.  If you have not contacted this person then take a few minutes and do it now.
