I've been poling since July of this year and going to classes only once/wk (the classes arent cheap) plus an occasional workshop here and there. I'm not progressing how I'd like to, so I've invested in getting a pole for home! Its coming home with weekend, yay!! I plan to purchase some instructional DVD's and probably sign up for StudioVeena's lessons as well so I can progress faster. You should do the same! A lot of people are self-taught. : )

I started in January of this year and I go to pole classes 4 times a week. I also own a pole at home and practice in my spare time (when I'm not sore from class).. I love it! I'm almost at my 1 year anniversary <33

Wow 4 classes a week! That must cost a fortune. I have been poling just over 2 years, classes once a week. Have a pole at home but never use it anymore.

Not that you can tell, but for 4 years now. I have had A LOT of off and back on times due to medical stuff for about 2 of those years. I started in a basement with unfinished concrete floor and tar all over. I think this explains why I still to this day have issues about taking moves to the floor. LOL!!!! Our shoes and little clothes would get so nasty!!! We had to wear socks with out shoes too! We didn't care!!!! I only wish I had knew about SV when I began. I learned to invert on YT. I got spotted and one day tried it alone. I caught with my socked foot and slipped and fractured a rib. Yep.

I've been poling a little over a year (started last August, so 14 months to be exact) and I haven't looked back since! I started out taking class on and off when I could, then I finally got my own pole up last November and it's been a full on addiciton since then.

Sad to say, I got my pole about 8 months ago and my poling has been VERY on-and-off for me….mostly off than on. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I need to find time for it!

Four and a half years, off and on. Longest "hiatus" was 8 months straight. Been making really good progress recently!

For almost 6 years, also with some down time and not as consistent as I'd like.  Also started at 51 yrs so a lot of catching up to do.  I've gone to studio off and on, mostly off as there is not one close by that meets my poling style.  So travel to a studio once in a while and various workshops when I can.  Right now I'm not poling as much as I'd like due to family issues and also focusing a lot on a bootcamp fitness training.  Although the fitness training has helped me finally accomplish split grip jackknife/aysesha, still need to clean it up but thrilled.

I started 4 yrs ago. The first 2 yrs I took some beginner classes and practiced very regularly with my pole buddies. I progressed quickly. The last 2 yrs (after moving away from my pole buddies) have been more off than on the pole. Did some silks/trapeze/lyra, since home poling turned out not to be for me. Then last september I kickstarted my pole dancing again by attending a weekend long pole dance camp. I fell back in love with pole dance. I've since taken some awesome workshops and made lots of pole friends. As I type this, I'm on my way to my second pole dance weekend!! Yay! And I'm finally getting back on SV. I really missed reading about your lives and accomplishments. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I’m just waiting to get my internet working then gone take veenas lessons. The studio I go is closing december to have the cellings highered so could really do with internet for lessons 🙂 . I’ve also tried hoop and silk.silk was very hard I just got knotted up and stuck 😀 but was good fun :))

Similar to pole gal, I started officially in February, took 1 class a week, took off April to July, and Sept. I think collectively I’ve poled for 5 months at 1-2 times a week.

I have been poling for about a year and 7 months I think, and competing since 3 months. I started with lessons once a week, then I went quickly to 2 lessons a week. After a few months I began to give workshops for bachelorparties and stuff for the school I had lessons with. Then a few months later I became a teacher 🙂 I met some wonderful people along my way. I love pole so much! 🙂

I've been at the current studio since January, but before that had a year of poling, when I bought my pole after about 7 months (being 16/17 I had to wait til my birthday to have enough money), and then had to take a year out as the instructor couldn't pole anymore and I was sorting out getting into uni. xxx

I started 3 months ago going to classes 2 times a week but have not been to a single class for three weeks now due to financial issues 🙁 I spend thousands on dentistry materials since the university does not provide it, starting with gloves and masks, and eding with burs and fillings. I really hope I can save some money for my own pole and buy it for my birthday in January.

I'm on my fourth month.  I bought a pole and pole at home due to the nearest studios being quite a drive away from me in both directions.  It is one thing that I am glad I saved for (it took two years to put away enough money 😀 $5 every paycheck eventually came to bear fruit!) because no matter what- I can pole and that makes me seriously happy.
