So I've been poling for….. a little over a week now and it struck me to maybe ask want others do for their sore muscles? Usually my "normal" (non-pole) workouts leave my legs sore and I just take a hot bath, massage them with a "relaxing" lotion(which obviously I can't really do anymore ), and then put a heating pad on my lap while I'm at the computer- but poling leave my hands, arms, shoulders, and toes (lol yes toes) WAY sore. My husband picked up some "salonpas: pain relieving patches" from the local Rite Aid and those things are magic for the most part. But that got me to thinking and wondering if anyone else has something in specific that they use or do to help with sore muscles? Any particular tips for hands and toes? I've been stretching and trying to work those muscles so I'm not nearly as sore as I could be- but it did certainly get me thinking about how others handle it. Anyone got a special trick to making sore muscles feel better?

Hi Stormcat!  Welcome to Pole!  What I have found that works for me is soaking in an epsom salt bath.  I also found an organic locally made muscle rub that has Arnica in it- which takes the edge off.  (I'm in Kansas City and it is "Zip's Muscle Rub" by Indigo Wild).  For bruises, I have a separate arnica gel, called "Arnicare" by Boiron, which I picked up at the pharmacy.  It is non-greasy and you appy it at the first sign of bruising.  Don't worry, your muscles and body will get used to the movement and you will be sore less and bruise less.  Have fun!
