What's the difference between the full-fingered gloves and the regular cut-off ones?

I'm mainly interested because it seems more convenient than having to soap up my wedding band and slide it off before every practice. (It is a band only, no diamonds, but I'm very protective of it still as I have been married less than two weeks!) Are the short gloves still long enough to protect my ring (and my pole)?

You will still destroy your ring.  While it may not mark your pole it will deform under the pressure.  It may also cause premature ripping of the gloves, no matter which you get.  Those gloves are designed to give you better grip, not protect jewelry.

Thanks for the advice! I'll save my money… and my ring! Guess I've just got to get used to taking the ring off before practice. 🙂

Absolutely take the ring off. You will damage one of three things if you try to Pole with your ring on; either the pole, your hand or the ring itself and probably all three if you continue to wear the ring while poling.
