    Hiya

I'm a newbie (first ever post)  who has had an Xpert (new x-joint/bottom loading) for just under a month. I use it every other day or so (as am totally weak) but as am still in 'Strength training mode' the most spinny action it gets is from my * year old daughter (who can already do more than I can thanks to the StudioVeena lessons!)
I check it religiously tightening if loose. The 'static to spin' screws are still tight and in alignment with the X's and the three adjusting screws are tight and on the flat part of the thread (not the screw part) as per instructions yet the whole pole is now moving anti clockwise when I try to spin on it, which is freaking me out as I'm only just starting out and not ready for spins yet!!!

    Can anybody advise me?

I bought it directly from XPole uk so am not worried it's fake and it feels very sturdy when I try to wobble it, it's just this spinning thing.

The irritating thing is that I JUST (SO EXCITED/ADDICTED) this morning after a month of strength training (very weak, so taking it slow) managed to confidently do my first proper Fireman spin! I now want to do more and more and MORE but am worried i'll damage my pole (or myself) 🙁

    Help a newb out pleeeaaase!

    xx

Have you tried calling them? I know some of the girls here have had some issues resolved by calling the company and sometimes they respond to the discussions here….if they see it I guess.

Under the adjuster cover are two screws. Tighten those. That should fix the problem. I had that same thing happen to me until I periodically tightened those two hidden screws. 🙂

Please always call us on technical issues. So much easier and quicker to resolve on the phone.

The pole spinning with the adjuster and static and spinning screws locked in position can be caused by 2 things.

    1. As Sensual quite rightly advises, there are 2x screws under the adjuster cover – you will need to remove the base and take off the cover to see them. These 2x Hex screws lock the adjuster screw rod into the adjuster body. We chnaged the size of these screws to stop people undoing them by accident so there is no hex key in teh tool kit. So you may need to buy another hex key. You will need a 3mm Hex key for a 6mm Hex screw.

    2. The other cause could be the adjuster bearing unit has come unscrewed. It should be thread locked in position but it could have been missed.

The adjuster body – the part under the cover – is in two parts. the main body where the adjuster rod fits and the bearing unit at the bottom. This is screwed into the main body.

If the bearing unit is loose, undo it 15mm (3/8'"). Take out the 2x hex screws for static and spinning and inserting the large hex key through these holes you can use the Hex key as a bar to undo the bearing unit. Do not force it.

Now. with the bearing unit 50% screwed into the body put some super glue or thread lock onto the screw threaded part – do not get it on the bearing (only a little is needed) and re-tighten the bearing unit as hard as possible.  When using super glue you need to be quick!

Using one of the above two methods should sort out your problem.

If not successful please call us on Monday on 01707 664111.

Have good weekend – poling we hope !
