I'm not ure about the 45s, but here is what to look for..

Is the dome metal? Does it have 3 bearings in the dome? Is the silicone clear or black? Are the threads welded into the tubes?

I can see the X on the bottom dome. It´s hard to see if the dome´s rubber is clear or black around because it´s in the bag, but I have asked about a pic of the upper dome to see the serialnumber – as you suggested Sensualscimitar.Thank you for your link, found a bigger pic at googel. I have also asked for a pic of the receipt.
-
@trinse the link doesnt work for me, it takes me to the add photos page so I can't see what yours looks like

My fake has a clear rubber ring. Mine also looks so similar to the pictures. I would say if your not sure, just buy one from Veena to be on the safe side…..it is so hard to tell.

Lyme Lyte is right. If you don't know for sure just buy from Veena. It does look like the real deal though. Oh and just so you know. The newer xpoles don't have serial numbers. I bought mine from xpole and that is what they told me. I think the serial numbers are on the box. I'm not sure. Anyways. Just buy from Veena or Xpole. Better safe than sorry.

Looking at the photo of the upper dome unit we cannot clearly see the top bearing. The photo is not the best, glare where the bearing is, but it appears that the upper dome bearing unit is missing.
As sensual says there shoud be a serial number sticker on the bottom of the dome or as this is an old XP type pole it could be on the bottom of the base.
It does appear to be an genuine X-Pole from what we can see and just so you know we still carry all the spares or can get spares for all the old (and current) poles so if you have a damaged or missing part your X-Pole distributor can help.

Just seen QueenJewells post. X-Poles still have serial numbers even the newer ones.

Sorry X pole tech. That is what someone from xpole Ca told me. She said she was kinda of new. I won't say her name cause she was nice and maybe she or I misunderstood something because we were discussing the fake pole issue. No one better to clear this matter than the X Pole Tech!

No problem we are here to help. Any questions please always contact your local country distributor. The USA have a great team in LA who will always do their best to assist.

X Pole Tech – thank you for your comments. So how should the upper dome look like with the unit that seems to be missing on the picture? And how old har the old x-pole´s? What´s the differents between the old and the new styles?
-
I would say its a genuine pole as its the exact same as mine and mine was from an xpole retailer. hope this helps. x

I´ve got a receipt today, and it was bought march 2009.
But I´m curious about the missing part of the dome. The seller says everything is in good shape, and nothing about missing parts.

As per our last email it was difficult to see due to the glare on the bearing area.
Basically providing there is an actual ball bearing in the centre of the upper dome it is fine. If there is just a big hole in the middle and you can see to the bottom of the dome from the top the bearing unit is missing.
New and Old Styles:
The Old Style (XP) is Top Loading – you have to adjust it from the top – and has screw together joints.
The New Style (XX) is Bottom Loading – no ladder needed to install – and uses new X-Joints and has a smaller base.
Hope the above helps

Another thing I now see is that my top dome is HOLLOW, not solid across the top. Maybe that is why it was always slipping due to lack of contact area with the ceiling.
-
Lyme Lyte – please can you explain what you mean by hollow across the top?
The upper dome has a lip to which the silicone edge, which contacts with the ceiling, is attached. It is only that silicone edge that is in contact with the ceiling. Correclty installed that is more than enough to hold the dome in position. The most important point is to make sure the dome is flat with the ceiling.
It is not the dome wihich effects stabiliy. The floor and its surface also play a part. A hard floor is fine but on a sprung wooden floor when you use the pole you increase the pressure on the base by the dancers weight, the floor compresses and this de-pressurises the pole. So it can be fine when you install it but when you dance the floor flexes and allows the dome to move. This can also happen on thick carpet. The instructions suggest with a sprung floor you stand on the base to add weight as you wind the adjuster up.
Hope this helps.

Yes, it is just as u suggested. Hollow. Even when installed properly, it would slip…..once again probably being a fake. We even put too much pressure on it and it would still slip on me, and i am little. I have never had that with a real x pole.
