You know what might be fun would be to have a weekly (or bi-weekly or monthly depending on how popular it is) challenge. Something like "use a prop" or "wear a —". Being new to the pole, I never want to post my stuff because it’s slightly less than impressive at this point, lol. But this would give newbies a fun reason to post– as well as experts and everyone in between!

i think the challenges are a great idea i know they have something called "pole junkies weekend challenge" on you tube it’s exactly like you said where 1 week the challenge is to do a routine with no spins or a routine to 80’s music or a routine where you have to spin then invert throughout it would def. be something i would do

i mentioned this to veena awhile back, it would be really cool to see some wall dancing video’s, or chair dancing things- maybe even a props video so people can see all the cool things they could do with a hat or a bottle of lotion, how to take off gloves for example, stuff like that…but that could be getting a little dirty and maybe people wouldn’t like that.
it would be awesome too to see all of the video’s categorized; like a section just for spins, inverts, transitions, strength training, stretches….stuff like that. but i think that has to do with software being re-written so that might be hard.
i love love love the weekly chat thing we’ve been doing too; i wish more people would participate in it! it’s been so fun getting to know different people on the site too. this website is becoming a little community, it’s so awesome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I think we all (or mostly all ) agree a weekly "challenge" would be a fun thing to do as well as provide a little extra motivation while keeping things fresh i personally like "exotic" dancing in general (belly dancing, chair dancing, burlesque, using props, ect but as am already a little concerned about what moves/outfits I would feel comfortable having on the web ( i have completely refused to have even head shots on my friends myspaces pages and always said i would never post a video as obviously ANYONE can see it including your boss/co-workers, family ect. this has made me a little hesitant to post so far as don’t do "routines" i just do what I feel at that second and sometimes some moves/poses/floorwork can look sexually suggestive if there was a way to ensure only certain people could see the video i would love to really let loose and whip out the chairs/props ect but for now will prob just edit out anything that is "racy" from my vids ) and think mixing it up with diffrent music, styles, props ect keeps it exciting and fun
i think since it’s just for fun and nobody has to do anything they don’t want to we should start posting challenge ideas/guidelines asap the chair/gloves ect can be an option people would obviously have the choice to not participate in any challenge they aren’t comfortable with and it’s up to you how far to take it (say chair dancing is part of the challenge no one’s saying you have to straddle and hump the chair you can be as "tasteful" or "naughty as you chooseI also love that this is becoming a community I come out here everyday to check for new posts and often pop in the chat room but am the only one there will try to catch some talk time in chat this fri. that would be great
as far as challenges I’m going to throw some ideas out (some I have seen done on you tube, some just made up)
Studio V Challenge Ideas:
Do a routine to 70’s music
Do a routine to a slow sensual song
Do a routine with no spins
Do a routine with only spins (no inverts)
Do a routine with a prop (hat, cane, scarf ect)
Dance to a remix of a song
Touch the floor as little as possible
Dance in heels (this will sure be a challenge for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif )
Routine to reggae or techno
Routine to a Madoona song
Routine on spinny poleHopefully this catches on with the pole junkies challenge it’s a once a week thing I think once a week is a good option of cousre your always free to do more or less but think it would be fun to shoot for either weekly challenges or bi-monthly

i love exotic dancing too, i think it’s so amazing all of the things you can do with your body and all of the emotions you can evoke both from yourself and from whomever you’re dancing for.
i think posting vids on veena’s site is pretty safe, but i guess you’d have to go through yuotube to get the video’s online…im really a newbie when it comes to all of the video stuff, i barely figured out how to get my webcam working for friday chat nights! but i understand why you’d be nervous poles. poles, i usually pop into the chatroom here and there when im on the site but mostly i think people stop in on fridays for the chat (although i missed last weeks chat which im sad about lol).

Oh I love the ideas!!! I too have no idea how to post videos and don’t have a web cam I did buy a vid camera mainly for taping and posting videos have been so busy have’nt had time to sit down with cam manual and see how to work it also would like to buy editing software ( I’m really bad with computors ect. so for now might just have to be whatever I can manage til get better at this)

its ok Pole, im the same way, i’ll stare at cam corders online but wont be able to afford one for awhile, so no vids for me yet.
so im thinkin’ the weekly challenge is a great idea that we all love- maybe we could all talk about what the first challenge should be in chat this friday??? i’ll be there about 6pm ny time.

im losing some motivation because of how sick i have been

OK I know i’m late to this Challenge response. But I would love to have us do something like that. Spins and transitions are a great idea as well. haha taylor i agree! i can picture all the moves in my head but trying to do them i just cant get it right. i always feel like im doing something wrong. my boyfriend tells me that it looks like im doing it right but it just feels weird sometimes.

When I get my tax return I’m gunna get a video camera and I’ll post videos where I don’t have a routine then you won’t be the only one haha! How about that?! I’m so excited to make videos tho because then you guys can tell me exactly what I need to work on and tell me if I’m doing anything wrong! To me it feels like I am so I am really excited to hear your guys responses! Haha can’t wait to see ur unedifed vids pole twista because mine will be the same :]

i noticed that when doing what i thought was going to be my first video (battery died minutes after i turned the camers on, but i didn’t realize it til much later when went to check my video) i stopped alot to think of what to do next or change songs/wipe pole i am not really worried about peoples comments am really looking foward to constructive critisisim and general feedback https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif that will be a big treat to me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif usually am alone when doing it (don’t really have any friends who are into it and the 1 i sold my pole to seems to have quickly lost the initial intrest maybe b/c she has gotten frustrated by stalling progress ) so it will be nice to hear diffrent opinions and ideas https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

now this weekend i get to figure out how to use it and make a video so i should have a video in the next week

well at this point i am extemely frustrated with this posting of vids/pics thing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif i have finally found a way to get pics on comp. though and think will be able to email them to myself ( i have to have snap shots scanned onto a cd, but since my cd drive isn’t working i have to scan into my mothers comp. and email it to myself matter of catching her at a good time ) but am not sure how to get it on site from there https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif im going to see if my friend can help over the phone not as if i have to even say it, but i am very new to comps. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif i have had 1 for years but always just used for music i will try to get better at this so i can more fully participate in this and challenges https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif as far as vid i did record a little i have no editing software and alot of the vid is of me not even in view as am fiddling with radio or trying on diffrent shoes (my strap broke on my fave pair) not to mention i hadn’t realized the shorts i was wearing were so short until i watched vid i put on another pair under those and shot a little more so basically dont have alot of usable footage, but will attempt to post a clip just not sure where to start! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif i also got & put up my new chrome 50mm last night (gold is coming downstairs) havent tried even a spin yet am going to tape my first day on new pole tommorow will be (attempting) posting clips already have and clip from new pole practice tommrow after 7p est. now the way my room is b/c its an attic, the walls slant making it just about impossible to get an angle where it’s far enough and high enough to get head to toe shot in so alot tried my best to get it all in, but don’t be surprised if my foot or whatever goes out of the shot https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif well wish me luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

camilla- so did you get your pics onto your computer yet? once you have them emailed to yourself, you can download them to your computer and then upload them to your account here on veena’s website. sounds more complicated than it really is.

no was going to go tonight after work as already have pics i want put together with coupon in purse but am not feeling great tonight just wanted to get home after work have had a hard time sleeping after work (3rd shift job) last couple days think i just need a good 8 hrs solid of uninterupted sleep well am going to office tommorow and wal-greens is right there so will def be tommrow (also talked to my mom and she said tommrow night is fine to stop in and use comp.) only have a few with me & pole, but will post what i got and prob a head shot so you can actually see my face i hear you with posting being more complicated than you would have thought i cant believe how much trouble i am having with it tech boy was here last night and basically said i need to buy a new vid camera as mine is not digital and will have to keep paying $25 to have tapes transfered to dvd https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif am a liitle upset since i just bought that cam in july… well atleast once i get first vid posted i will have a better idea of what to do and following vids should be easier sucks a little more since everything i taped to post is useless now as its on tape & will cost $25 for a 5 min clip!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif well tommorow pics and as soon as new cam comes in will tape and post ( am ordering 1 online to save on taxes)
