It has been years since i have "become one" with a pole. I want to relearn pole and use it for workouts, art, and confidence. I have a few questions and need help :/

I have the mipole 50mm for starters and it is actually holding up good. eventually i will upgrade(once funds are availible)

    1. what kind of pole-brass, titanium, SS?

    2. How should the strength lessons be done? One area a day or the whole routine everyday…etc?

    3. I have a 8'2 ceiling and i live in a capeted apart. I would love a static/spinning pole to save money, what brand is reliable? x, PS, S factor or lil Minx

    4. Do excercises like yoga and pilates on off days help with stamina and strenght?  i need help bad in these areas

I suggest new polers go with the Chrome or titanium 45mm X pole. There are many threads on here about pole finishes and sizes, if you'd like to look through those. Just do a search on the site here. X pole is the brand I trust and I have many of them. You can put it on carpet too. You could look into Pole Danzer poles as well, I hear good things about them.

When you sign up for the lessons the "getting started" videos at the beginning of each section will explain how often you should pole or do strength work ect. This will help you plan your workouts.

Adding yoga and Pilates is great for pole conditioning! Swimming, walking or hooping is good for cardiovascular stamina.

    Thank you so much https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

One of my problems is my motivaiton i want to excel at pole, but i easily get discouraged like not being able to do simple 'pole'-ups and such, it is fustrating and defeating…

    Any way to combat this…

Keep in mind a pole up isn’t simple 🙂

    Hi Carmelapple-

Don;t get defeated!  Remember pole is dance first, tricks second.  I really suggest working on getting comfortable with transitions and learning how your body likes to move, as you get more comfortable with dance, your body is getting stronger.  Whenever I have a bad day on the pole – I just revert back to dancing, that's what made me get into it in the first place.  Over time the harder things will come, just keep that in mind 🙂

You could make it a goal just to work on it. My instructor is great and always reminds me that even if you don't move while trying, that you are still engaging and building muscle.
