silly question # 1 Leg Warmers
Posted by cupcake11 on March 12, 2012 at 6:58 pmI love the look of leg warmers! Short, long, striped, polka dots, animal prints…they’re all so cute! In south Texas we don’t really “need” them very often, but I want to wear them more for poling.
So the silly question is: When/why do you wear leg warmers?Charley replied 13 years, 9 months ago 15 Members · 21 Replies -

I’m an 80s child. I would wear leg warmers everywhere if I were a real dancer. I wear them for warm up dancing and stretching and just around the house cuz I think they’re cute 🙂

So many good reason to wear them lol
I use them when i want to work a lot on some spins, ever had that feeling that with friction you will miss some skin. Or when you want to do floowork and need some comfy for knee and help slidding on the floor. You can also wear them when you want to work on your dancing without the temptation to climb the pole. And just because they look hot and make you feel good https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

@hotelchic-I’m an 80’s girl too, but I never do anything when it’s “In”…I wait until 20 years later (or 30, in this case)!
@tiggertail, excellent point- to keep u from climbing, like on an “off pole” day! -

I like to wear the leg warmers if I am warming up or stretching. I also wear leg warmers outside of pole dancing lol. I wear them ontop of my skinny jeans with my sneakers, or I wear them underneath boots and have them poking out. My total favorite ones for pole dancing are the ones that are suuuuper long and they go way past your knee caps… Though most go beyond my knee caps since I'm so short anyway https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Ewa…I love the really long ones, too! I love ordering them from Sock Dreams. They do reviews and let you know if they fit tight (which I hate), or if they're roomy eneough not to give you a thigh muffin top.

I live in Northern Canada so I actually weather them for warmth reasons in winter. They keep the snow from getting into my shoes and freezing my ankles. 🙂 I like to wear them when i dance though. They keep me warm when i first start warming up and they are just fun and awesome to wear. 🙂

Ooohhh Krissykiki where abouts in Northern Canada? I'm from Edmonton Alberta!

Wait… What?! We need a reason to wear leg warmers?!! Oh man, I’m in trouble!

At our studio we all were funky knee socks and over the knee socks when warming up or working on floor work. It started with us instructors and now clients are doing it too. It’s super fun! I find myself on on the lookout for cute new socks 😉

I am a leg warmers FREAK!!! Always have been. I find them particularly useful for warming up and flexibility sessions. I also wear them when doing floorwork. I wear them to bed in the winter. I love them!!!

I’m wearing a pair right now! A short skirt-jacket suit, scarf, high heel boots and leg warmers for a meeting at my university rectorate 🙂
Leg warmers are cute and hot 🙂
I try to wear them as much as I can, with shorts and ballet flats, with dresses and boots, over jeans and leggings, at home just over socks and slippers…
Unfortunately I’m not strong enough to do pole spins wearing them, I depend on my ankles too when I spin and they just keep slipping… -
Oh and the warm weather doesn’t stop me wearing them! During summer I just wear the cotton ones instead of wool ones 🙂
-
Yep I totally love leg warmers… so much that I decided to knit myself some "summer" leg warmers out of a pretty thin yarn so I don't burn up in them 😉

I put on extra long leg warmers tonight to do the splits routine. I love them-they have no feet, and extend from ankles to my butt, and still have a little room for some scrunching (purchased at that place I mentioned earlier). Anyway, hubby came in and told me I looked cute – so I'll definately wear more leg warmers now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I have long legs, I’m always on the quests for over the knee leg warmers and socks & have a hosiery ‘fetish’ (spend more on those than accessories/shoes!) ANY sharing on yummy glam accessories- do share! I buy mine at Target & Leg Avenue. Sometimes I modify for desired length.
I wear leg warmers under long pants on top of socks in winter during warm up. Pants off, socks off when I warmmed up enough- if leg warmers are long enough & I feel like spins, floor work, sexy transitions they stay on. Climbing and learning inverts they come off.
During floor work either warm up or session exercise I protect my knees with leg warmers.
Shoes: If they’re kinda loose I wear socks or fishnets, no other nylons, slippery. Plus I can put powder in socks- sweaty girl. Boots I wear leg warmers due to size again, shins are loose. -
I have a sillier question… I have seen some girls wear over the knee some under the knee… what looks good and what looks dumb?
-
@ Ewa Tran. I'm in northern B.C. in a smaller city called Prince George.
Also I love buying spring/summer thinner leg warmers and wearing them with heels 🙂
-
I have short legs so I wear leg warmers ALL the time – under my knee.
I bought some PVC leggings as a cheap replacement for boots 😀
-
Ok so if you need a practical reason wear them while you are warming up and stretching…They are great aids in helping you retain heat especially as you are getting started.
Otherwise ALL the time 😀
Leg warmers are a staple for me because I can keeep my calves warm which tend to get VERY tight for me and I find spins are easier and I like being able to pull them under my heels for stretching.
