I have the original Xstage and I love it. It's heavy but it doesn't take me very long to set up. My ceilings aren't high enough to set up in my house but I've set it up outside on my back patio. Now I use it at the studio I teach at for shows and when I want to use a spin pole. I wish I had an Xstage Lite but I'm very pleased with what I have. It works well.

I have an X Stage Lite and have been very happy with the purchase. It has been very sturdy and has withstood any move I do on it. The spin feature is smooth. Everyone that has seen it is immediately taken by awe… its a nice looking piece of equipment!
It is heavy, initial assembly was a bit of work. The pie pieces took a whole lot of shifting around to get them to lay in the frame appropriately. I actually labeled them 1-6 with arrows so I know how to line them up on the frame when I assemble it. The plates are loud especially when wearing heels but nothing some music can't cover. I cut the pole length down so I could use it in my house since I have average ceilings… grrrr. Just took some muscle and a nice hacksaw.
My XSL has a special place in my heart! I do not regret the invesemtment in my XSL. I have semi permanent mount Platinum Stages poles for my daily practice but keep the X Stage for its versatility.

I love my X-Stage, I use it at home and take it with me everywhere I do demonstrations or performances! I even teach spin pole on it at my studio to my students. What's really great is that the X-Stages are completely interchangable – that means you can use the same pole for the regular base OR the lite base… you can have different pole sizes (45mm, 50mm) and use them on the same base… pretty much, you can mix and match as you see fit! Going to be investing in a second one this year soon =)

i have an x-stage and i absolutely love it! i love it more than my x-pole. there are several reasons for this. it's very tall (almost 10 ft!), it's sturdy (still wobbles though), it spins way better than an x-pole, it comes with a platform so i could practice in heels if i want (i have carpetted floors). by the way, i don't even use the extra stability legs so they don't bother me. it's really not necessary, unless you're alot heavier or just starting out and don't know how to control your momentum.

X-perts aren't very likely to damage your ceilings though so don't be afraid to get a tension mounted pole. I've had mine up forever at 2 places and never had any issues with anything outside of feet marks on the ceiling and perhaps a ring from where it was placed.

The XStage needs a little over 10 feet to set up BUT you can buy a shorter extension piece for the top part (pole B). You will not regret the purchase.
I will add that neither the PS nor the XPole will leave marks (for the most part).

Glad to see so many positive responses I think investment is definitely justified now but maybe I’ll have a look at pole types again
but think I am settled on x stage but will have to cut pole length which would be a shame but necessary to fit house as at moment I can only practice once a week and I’m itching to do more -
When I ordered mine I wasn’t aware of being able to order a shorter extension. That would have definitely been preferred.

A floor to ceiling pole would be best and most stable (less wiggle)…it would also allow you to do more transitions down to floorwork, than a stage pole. If your ceilings and floor are not damaged or weak, then I would go with the xpert. A stage is great for demos and using outside but they take up a lot of indoor space though!

I have an x-stage because I have vaulted ceilings and really no other options. I like it, but I hope I have real ceilings in my next home because I really do want a regular floor-to-ceiling pole so I can incorporate more floorwork into my poling. It's great if you have ceiling issues like me or if you want to use it for travel, since it comes apart and can be assembled pretty quick. I have had mine for about a year with no issues. However, there is some bend to it when you are high up on the pole, so don't freak out when that starts to happen, lol..

acidbarbie, I have two poles on my vaulted ceilings a xpole and a mynx. My favorite is the Xpole. The only reason to not have a regular pole on a vaulted ceiling would be if it was a really high ceiling.

I have both an xpert and a stage pole and I can say that I've never put up my xpert after I bought my stage pole.
The xpert never damaged my ceiling, but it did leave a slightly noticeable ring in the popcorn texture. I enjoy how maintainance free my stage pole is and how easy it is to move around by myself if necessary. I definitely have more faith in my stage pole than my xpert (it's a total mental thing, I know). Yes, the stage pole does take up space but it's space that I need to dance in anyways. As for floorwork, I actually have a PS Star Stand Alone, so my stage isn't as high off the ground, but I find that I can do a lot of floor transition/litte moves on the stage itself. If it wasn't for the stage, I wouldn't be doing any floor work since my pole is in a carpeted room. 😀
The option of a spin mode is worth the money, even if you only put it on spin once a month. And yes, being able to just switch out to the different pole if you want another size is so convenient!

Still encouraged by the stage as sounds like one for me as still paranoid about ceiling and don’t really have space for a permanent pole maybe next house can get a fixed pole or two but that’s just wishful thinking … Thanks guys for all the advice much appreciated

My xpole has had no issues with the ceiling etc. Was careful to get it very straight and under a beam and have only tightened it three times since November! (Has been used 3x per week on average) But I hope you don't cut anything down. You never know what's coming…. you may need a tall pole one day so better to get a different extension! (I'm about to have to order one to make mine reach 12 foot…. When I bought it in November I never would've guessed I'd be having to do that now)
