s**t that pole dancers say
Posted by poleclimber on January 27, 2012 at 7:53 pmHave you seen these videos on Youtube? They are titled s**t that runners say, s**t that bikers say, s**t that people from LA say, etc. They are funny one liners that might be said by that group of people. I've been thinking of funny ones for us "pole fitness" nuts..
*I think I need more grip
*I saw this move on Youtube…
*Those booty shorts are sooo cute, I have GOT to get a pair
*This pole is way too slippery to do anything today
*This is NOT like what strippers do
*Damn, I left my platform stillettos in my other dance bag
*I really need to work on flow
*I almost have my true splits, almost.
Add any to this list for a chuckle!

Saw this on a T-shirt for pole dancers
*My gym shoes are sexier than yours
-
*I'm not a stripper, strippers get tips.
*STRIPpers STRIP, and POLE DANCERS…POLE DANCE.
-
*Hey check out this huge bruise I got the other day!
-
The Pole Dance Academy here in Sydney actually made a video for this I think! I'll try find the link for it!

That was so funny…. I love when she gets stuck… Definitely been there before…. Finally get a move but don’t know how to get out!!!
-
Here's another one….hilarious!
-
What my instructor said to me when I first learned the cross leg release and i really didnt want to let go…
"Its just skin, It will grow back!!"
-
" I think I need shorter shorts, I don't have enough skin showing" 😀
-
I have small kids, and an at home pole..picture a scene where you are talking to the boys..
**Your friends CANNOT play on my pole!!
-
I think we should make one from the dance pole manufacturer. LOL
So many one liners I can think of already!
-
I really do not think that is a good idea as it could turn very ugly very fast. There are facebook groups called Peace and Pole dedicated to pole studios getting along, I really think the manufacturers should adopt this also.
-
To my knowledge, we get along with everyone. We have no problem with any other pole company out there and in fact, we talk to people at other companies via email and by phone frequently.
That's why the video would be great – The first scene in the video would be the people from all of the different companies hanging out together saying "Why do they think we all hate each other"?
We are in the same industry, there's no reason for us to dislike each other and not be friends.
I was thinking more specifically of just one liners when people call us to order a pole or ask quesions about certain products – we would never bash anyone else.

I was thinking that it would turn into the ugliness that has reared its head here (and on facebook) on numerous occasions. I saw that as "things manufacturers say", not as "things that get said to manufacturers".
-
I don't think talking or poking fun at your customers would be the best idea…..
-
I like the idea Erica posted because I am sure all the manufacturers get repetitive comments, we are the same target audience. Maybe different demographics/price points but we acquire poles.
Due to various sensitivities I can understand why some may not feel it is appropriate. Or that how if a manufacturer participated in the concept it could easily be manipulated into something ugly. We can find ugliness in anything that we seek to find it in.
I have enjoyed the videos in this thread and like that there is a sense of humor out there regarding common observations and themes that pole dancers commonly encounter.

And to add a funny comment for Erica, I have a PS pole, and had some issues (very well handled). When I called the customer service line I made sure to clarify – "I'm NOT a stripper, this is for home fitness." Like I need to justify myself to somebody on the phone LOL! Customer service was very professional, it was my own reaction that was funny!

Thanks @JeHanne
I kinda meant more poking fun at ourselves not at our customers. If you can't laugh at yourself, then I think you're taking life way too seriously.
I'm a very free-spirited, fun-loving person and I laugh at myself all of the time. After all, laughter is healing for the soul.
Just thought maybe some things that were cutesy and funny would be fun. Like when guys call in to order a pole for their girlfriends and they have no idea what to order and then are super confused and say things like, "Wait, what? There are that many different types of poles?" Because they do not always realize that there are different types of poles. Or cute little stuff like that.
We hear that all the time when guys sometimes call to order a pole as a gift and we start asking "Stainless Steel" or "Brass" "2 in, 1.75 in or the new 1.5 in/38 mm diameter?"
I always think it's adorable how the boyfriends or husbands want to get the perfect pole for their loved one. <3
Or the other day, I was talking to a customer about the new super skinny pole in brass that will be available in a couple of weeks. Well he was on the phone with me placing an order for the Super Skinny in stainless steel and when he heard it was coming out in brass he said, "Oh no! You're coming out with ANOTHER new pole? Well my wife will have to have it too, so I guess that means you'll be hearing from me again in a couple of weeks."
He was the most adorable husband ever!
So I meant things like that.
We would never make fun of anyone else.
In reality, we are way too busy to make one of these videos – just thought it might be funny. I love it when we're laughing and sharing together.
