So after a lot of super helpful advice from everyone, I have decided for now to get a Lil Mynx rotator pole, and when I move out next year into a place with a more standard ceiling height, I will invest in a nicer Platinum Stages pole.

I found a seller who claims to be authorized to sell LM on ebay.  I just wanted to gather opinions on this.  They have 100% feedback rating and say they can customize poles for different ceiling heights, just as LM can.  The reason I am considering this is because I can probably get the pole I am looking for, for about $40 cheaper than I would ordering through LM, and money is tight for me right now.  However, if anyone thinks it's not a good idea, of course I would pay the extra money for ensure my poling safety.

    Any thoughts?

If I were you I would contact LM to verify if they are an auth dealer! Good luck in your pole journey! Xoxo

Looks like this is California Poles.

http://www.californiapoles.com/index.php but it is odd that the "location" is Fort Myers.

This is the same seller that has been on since I bought my first pole and they have had that profile since 2001.  I highly doubt this is a bad seller.  If in doubt you can always call Lil Mynx and see if indeed they are a reseller: Toll Free: 877-700-7467

As far as saving when buying on eBay goes:

Use a site like Ebuyersedge.com to set up saved searches. You get an e-mail whenever a matching item is newly listed.  Especially good for "Buy It Now"s that are priced right.

Try a misspelling search using a site like Typojoe.com to hopefully find some great deals with items that have main key words misspelled in the title. Other interested buyers might not ever see them.

If you see an auction that you want to bid on, use a sniping service such as Bidball.com to place your bid for you.  It'll bid in the last few seconds, helping you to save money and avoid shill bidding.
