Oona is amazing – it's well worth going back and looking at some of her previous clips if you get the chance!

I agree, it is quite a performance. I think this is what an Olympic Pole Dance performance would probably look like.
Oona is incredibly talented, there's no argument there. Personally, I favor a more sensual style, a la Karol and Alethea. But Oona definitely has a lot of incredible moves and I'd be very happy to take a workshop with her at some point!

I saw that performance the other day. I was in awe over the same move! I would go flying across the room!

<3 oona. she is what made me excited about pole. Her and a Pantera routine i saw when I first started pole. I was like "yes! this doesn't have to be sensual".
🙂

<3 im more of a slow winding mover too but you have to appreciate moves like this 😉
-
sair we should have practiced tonight together cause my workout sucked 🙁 Maybe then I'll get a couple moves like hers..

i got so much out of my private and classes with oona– she has a lot of speed and precision to her movement, but it's borne out of relentless practice and perfectionism- she drills basics more then any teacher i've ever taken, and i've taken with a LOT of pro polers. i really appreciated that. one thing she told me was to think of the legs as the rhythm, and the arms as the melody– to use my whole body to interpret the musci– and she does that so fully in every routine. her musicality and timing is amazing, and she has a really sharp eye for beautiful and interesting body positioning– she has taken a super basic move (the sit on the pole, with both knees bent) and made it a staple of spin pole routines simply by arching in front of the pole, dropping the head to one shoulder, reaching one arm up, and reaching the other arm out to hold the shin: beautiful! she is such an innovator, i absolutely adore her!!

Just watched… insane! It's like she's in fast-forward or something!
-
Wow- She's fantastic. I feel that her moves are more agressive and gymnastic than the typical pole dance. I can appeciate her work but I think that if pole is going to the Olympics there should be a bit more "dance factor". That is what will seperate pole dance from gymnastics…

i already saw it. but i could watch this performance again and again….. it´s so amazing!
for anyone who wants to try her combo she starts with a (incredible) reverse grab to backward chair spin to chopper. then she hooks the outside leg and grips lower with the left arm to get into a basic butterfly and gets directly into a split grip aysha
i also love her combo from 0:30 – 0:36!
-
my fav bit is on the second pole when she is in a layout close to the ground and then swings back up the pole. 🙂
-
she is amazing! but i also agree with some of the ladies here – this is pole gymnastics, not pole dancing.
-
She looks like she is dancing to me. Just because she isn't grinding on the pole or doing hip rolls.. doesn't mean it's not dancing. Maybe it's not sensual dancing, but it's not just straight gymnastics either!
-
sorry https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif i should have said "traditional" pole dancing!

I love this about pole these days.. you can be sexy, sporty, delicate- whatever suits your personality or mood. Everyone has a different style and that is what is wonderful about the pole. You dont have to be just sexy! Everyone can enjoy it no matter what their personality. I like to be sporty- more gymnastic like practicing w my kids and only get my sexy on by myself or for my hubby. 🙂 Sexy pole dancing is traditional but without- pole fitness w pole would never have come into my house and life! lol I love and appreciate all of it. The differences are what opened the possibility of poling for me.

I agree with PaulettePoles… The great thing about pole dancing is that it's open to interpretation! Oona comes from a background in gymnastics, so it makes sense that her style is more gymnastic than "sexy" (although that's not to say she isn't sexy!). We all have different styles and movements and it really comes down to how the individual connects with the pole. It winds up being very personal and very beautiful…
I don't think there's any "right" or "wrong" way to pole and that's what's so empowering, beautiful, and unifying about it…
-
with pole fitness everyone can have their own styles, sexy, sporty, rocker… ect ect
i prefer the sexy style but to each their own!
-
I perfer artsy with a bit of sexy thrown in, think Jenyne's more recent stuff, or Natasha's older stuff. I can still appreciate Oona's display of strength though. I mean, who wouldn't!
