  • Moving – Shipping pole?

Hubby has a big possibility of being offered a job transfer to Oahu, Hawaii! It would be an amazing opportunity overall, but financially challenging. We are pretty laid back and "roll with the punches" and can do without a LOT of "things" and "stuff".

…however, besides the basics (food, housing, utilities, clothing, etc), one thing I feel I CANNOT do without is my pole!!!

We are currently in the Atlanta area… sooo I guess my question is this: has anyone shipped their pole across the country (or farther?) and how much did it cost?? Should I just check it as baggage on the plane? I've always lived on the east coast so I have no idea where to start 😛

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Kat 🙂

I have no personal experience in this area but a friend of mine travels with her pole all the time. If it’s a multi piece, take it on the plane. Depending on how much other baggage you have with you it could be free to take it. If you are planning to move alot of your stuff with a moving co. it will cost about 1$ a pound to move it. But again if you have a multi piece look into taking it on the plane with you. Worst case scenario you have to pay a few extra $ for oversize baggage.

I definitely took my pole on as a carry on!  The TSA guys were VERY intrigued by it but then I didn't have to worry about it getting lost or anything.  Good luck!!

If you have a carrying case for the pole i would suggest bringing it on the plane. If not, shipping should cost about $40.00 for a XPole and about $150 for the XStages. Hope this helps! 🙂
