Last years Spring Break theme was cute so maybe something along that line?  Songs with beaches or islands or warm places in the lyrics?

a song in a language you don't know (perhaps of a country you would like to travel to), trying to interprete the meaning – having absolutely no clue what it's about 😉

Chem, could you explain spring break for me? In the uk we don't really have it I don't think. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I get that it's a student thing?

For students here this holiday is mostly about getting assignments done/cramming for exams.

Spring break is typically a week and for college students it is usually a week of drunken stupidness in some place warm.  Used to be Daytona, then it moved to Panama City, and I am not sure of the hot spot now.  It kind of comes down to needing some sort of break duting the semester.  In fall we have a day for Labor Day, a few days for Thanksgiving and then typically a week or more for Christmas.  There is nothing in the spring, so we have our dreariest months punctuated with no days off.  Also once the weather starts to warm people get "spring fever" and cutting classes on nice days seems like a good idea.

Ohh! Trust me I know  'spring fever' for me it's beachworthy days but for most people in Wales it happens to be days on which rugby matches occur. Even the train companies strike for the rugby! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I guess we make up for having no time off during term by having extra long holidays.

I've been thinking about one theme for a while. Hommage to (don't know if i have the right word sorry) make a video about someone or a song that we really love and put the link of the real one in the description. It could be the decoration or costume,  the song,  a special move that someone do. Or even insipire by a video of a singer or a band…

Somebody was getting married  in April and I was supposed to remind you.  Someone from chat, but damn, I can't remember who it was!  We chatted  about a bachelorette theme, love and marriage, leaving singlehood behind and keeping hold on being vibrant and sexy even though you've decided to "settle down" .

Luvlee, I always think of your video from last year with the hub-unit throwing beads at you!

Sorry if this is too "new-agey" or something… but what about a video having to do with spring symbolizing new growth?

Lots of ways to interpret this. Could show your growth as a dancer, could wear green and have to do with plants, could be about the using the vertical space on the pole…. Growth of yourself personall, growth of your family…. Lots of ideas.

I like open-ended stuff… Although that may be too open-ended.

I like tiggertail's idea, I think it'd be fun to do.

I think it would be good to do some one word themes sometime just give a word or two – something like 'decadence' or 'noir' they could be interpreted in many ways and it would be interesting to see.

I really like Ginger's idea, since I'm VERY fond of french music. I'm canadian, but I don't speak more than about two phrases in french…lol! But, they have amazing music, and I love listening to it!

Cynthia D…Um, you know I was born in the 80's, right? Do you REALLY want to hear some kind of horrible 80's rock ballad for an entire dance? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I'd do it, though. If I could figure out a good song!

Otherwise…how does one do a "spring break" themed dance? For my University, spring break was in February, and it was cold and boring (and now I get a second one, because my Uni is on strike, and it's been 3 weeks! >_<), and NO ONE wanted to go into that ocean! My understanding of Spring Break as per the USA colleges and such is…a lot of gratuitous nudity and such, getting drunk and crazy.

…Actually, that kind of gives me an idea! I would like to do any of these, though, really 🙂

I like the foreign language idea 🙂

But I dont know about springbreak. Isnt that just an american thing? I at least wouldn't know what I would do with that :S

Spring could also be the theme for aprils challenge 🙂

Ok, I love the enthusiasm guys but you've got to remember, this is an international community – and way over here in Down Under Australia, spring is a LOOONG way away – in fact, we've just survived skin cancer from endless days at the beach under the scorching sun in wondrous hot humidity, and now we r about to enter the dark days of winter, so spring is far far from any aussie's mind right now! We r far too busy mourning the end of summer and gettin ready to hibernate in our ugg boots to celebrate spring! haha Im sorry to burst your bubble – i dont want to rain on any one's spring parade, but it wuold just be really hard for me to get in the mood for a spring theme song right now… it just wouldnt make sense to my seasonal rhythm haha 😛

I like the idea of dancing to a song from another language/culture. I also like paying homage to an idol or muse… it's always interesting to see where people get their inspriation in life from…. It could be your fave pole-dancer (but then there would be a lot of crossover with  everyone loving Felix, Karol, Alethea, Jenyne etc)…. But that could be fun too, to see what moves and styles people choose to emulate from the greats.

I love the idea of dancing to a song released in the year you were born…. Because then we would definitely get a broad spectrum in response…. I love that pole-dancers come from all sorts of fascinating eras of music! Runemist, I have to disagree, im a huge lover of the 80's…. and I have a feeling there were some great hits released in 88, which works for me! More researcxh must be done! 🙂

Salubivires – great idea, i think using just one word or theme for inspirationg like "arty" or "noir" or "aching" or  whatever… would get some really interesting results.

ummmm im trying to think of another idea….. you could just elect one era or style of music for us to use in a video…. since almost everyone has their personal preferrances when it comes to music, like rock, pop, country, ballads, etc, it wuld do us good to get out of our comfort zone n try another genre. For example, maybe classical music? It would be hard but it would certainly be challenging! 😛

It would be fun to dance to a song in a language that I dont understand… I really like this song from my favorite Korean TV show "Boys before flowers". and I also really like the idea of dancing to music from the year you were born too, lots of great songs from the year 1977, for instance "Dancing queen" by ABBA! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I know, the song was played every xmas party for work that I went. And of course, "Hotel California" by Eagles. This challenge would be fun!

Quite like to dance to a song from the year you were born! I love the fact that pole is for any age!!! Also had a look at some songs from my year, which I had not even realised where released then. lol.

Also think it could be fun to dance to a different language, I have a few italian songs. But think I would try and do something different for the challenge. 🙂

The song from the year you were born is great. There are so many cool ones for my year, lots for Alice Cooper and Bonjovi etc hahahah that could be fun! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I'd totally do it if I could dance through a whole song! The one word idea is excellent too because it's not one exact set idea, it can literally be interpreted in dozens of different ways.

I love the song from a year you were born idea. Or even maybe the number one song on the day you were born. 🙂

There's a link you can use (Pop Culture Madness) where you can look up the #1 song on the day you were born! This is a great idea! We should do this!!!
