O.K.  consider it strange or weird or whatever, but I got my new pole (which Iam sooooo super excited about).  My Hubby brought it for me and I am so nervous about it.  I am a beginner, plus size poler, and now I am faced with nervousness; when it comes getting started and recording and posting. I'm nervous, y'all.  LOL.

Don't worry you'll be ok, take beby step and everything will be fine. And don't even if you don't post them (hope you will) don't forget to record often you will be happy to see your progress.

    Don't forget it's not the destination…it's the journey https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Thanks.  Pardon my typos.  I was serious when I said I was nervous.  🙂

im also a plus size poler.  its the effort u put into what ur doin that countsl.  my pal and i started together (she is a rather fit girl) and we have learned that we learn at different paces.  not cuz the size just because our brains work differently.  like im a momentum queen and she can climb like she was born to do it.  lol.  just keep goin and trust urself. the nerves will go away the more u work the pole. in my opinion,  recording may not be optimum just when u starting but u will  do that eventually when ur more comfy.  please inbox if u have more questions.

Hey hon, what kind of pole is it?

I can totally understand being nervous! I've actually felt that way a lot, even now, and it's a couple years later! Sometimes you just walk up to the pole and give it the sideways eye like "Are you sure?"

You will get used to it. Baby steps, and be kind to yourself. I may not be quite "plus size," but I'm larger than the social norm…and if you see a little jiggle in places, don't be scared! I tell ya…the guys love it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    cutiepie-

My x-pole has been up for two weeks now.  I let it lay in the box for a solid week before I finally felt confident enough to assemble it.

The first thing I did was set it to spinny mode and I almost threw up and was dizzy and nauseous for two days.  So avoid fast spins right away!  Its tempting but I learned my lesson, lol.

Since I scared myself off the pole for the first two days, I watched the beginner lessons for a couple of hours and I tried to visualize the moves.

Once I finally got on the pole, it was SO much fun!  I closed the curtains and blinds, blared some music and it was such a blast that I never even tried the basic moves.  Now I'm working on technique and focusing on good form but I'm also freestyling half the time and just enjoying myself.

I understand the hesitation since everyone on the forum looks so sexy/fit/acrobatic with their advanced moves.  Its a ton of fun and once you start dancing and goofing off, it doesn't even feel like a workout until you're barely breathing and your hands are sweaty.

Congrats on your new pole and enjoy yourself!  I love dressing up and dancing to my favorite songs.
