The Pole Convention Website was updated with more info on the workshops & pricing and so forth:

I've been keeping my eye on this for a while – who thinks they might be going?

I've got it blocked off on my calendar & I'm already starting to save for a pole-related vacation in the summer – this might be it! Becca, Jenyne, Felix, Jamilla, and more… It's looking like a good lineup. This could totally break the bank, LOL…

Anyone have tips from last year?

I *may* go this year. I thought about it last year, but we couldn't get a straight answer from anyone and was leery about it because of that. Even the venue had said they knew nothing about it when we called them! But now that we know its legit, might try and go this year. Looked like a great time last year!

Im debating. Last years winning factor was that is wasnt too far away from where I lived so I only paid for the pass and workshop.  Now since its in FL I would have to fly and stay for the weekend.  After the fiasco my husband I had last year about me staying all weekend, I dont want it to happen again.

Pole Convention was EPIC!  I had so much fun and met alot of Veeners and polers, learned alot about the pole business and meet some of my pole idols.

I just realized that between this and the Metro Detroit Spring break show, I should go ahead and get a Veener button so I can represent & be recognized! 😀

I'm a maybe. big maybe. things are sort of tight this year and while my husband would fully embrace me going I think I will not want to spend the money.

I'm flying down for this!  I'll have a vendor table this time.  DC Convention was so uplifting and fun.  It really was a great time.  The line up this year looks great and I'm happy to see that some of the workshops are not as expensive this year and some are even FREE!  Yay!

So DC / Angel / minicooper – can you tell me more about last year? I realize it'll be different this year, but just to get an idea… What was the Pole Jam with the Stars like? Did you take any workshops? How many people were in each? Thanks gals! It sounds like it was a blast!!

    Hi Meagan,

The whole thing was really exciting!  There was a main room with presentations and performances.  There was a vendor room to wonder around and learn about different pole products and such.  Then there were pole rooms where the workshops took place.  I only took the Felix workshop and there were a ton of girls in there! 40-50???  It was about 4 to a pole.  She taught 3-4 moves.  I didn't do the Pole Jam with the Stars, but I imagine that'd be great!  The best for me was all the performances, showcases, and speaker presentations.  Also went to a late night party in a hotel suite that had BaddAzz, Felix, Amber Richards and Zoriah show up and play around on the poles.  Somehow I wound up in a hottub with Jenyne Butterfly, Amber Richards, and Michelle Stanek.  I got to meet lots of Veeners and I saw a ton of my friends.  It was great for networking and just a bunch of fun overall.  Oh, got to meet Fawnia too!  So cool!  I left very inspired (and tired).https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I also took Felix's workshop and I will admit, I was disappointed and felt a little cheated b/c she didn't make it all the way around the room to help everyone, so she never once came to my pole… I'm not sure if all the workshops were like that, but I'd expect Felix's to be just as crowded this year as it was last year.  Really all I got was bragging rights that I took her workshop… I want to take Jenyne and Rebecca's workshops but am afraid they will be extremely over crowded as well… I'm also considering doing the pole jam w/ the stars.

Cool! Thanks for the speedy response, guys!!

Rena– Felix is doing two workshops this year; I hope that will make it less crowded – although I expect there will be more people there overall since this is year two; that might cancel out the effect of two workshops… we'll see!!

She had 2 last year as well. I’m pretty sure there were 40 in the workshop because I remember thinking, wow, $4,000 for one hour! She didn’t make it over to my pole either. She showed us the ‘eagle’, a transition from inside knee hang to split grip aysha and how to get into the superman from a knee hang. I knew those things so my friends helped me work on the superman drop.

This was a great networking event and lots of fun! I won't be able to go this year as I'll be just returning from Cali at that time.

It was a lot of fun meeting so many people and seeing the performances. I took a workshop with Sally Anne Giles and attended the pole jam with the starts which was a lot of fun.

There were 21 stage poles in the workshop room and for the jam and Sally's workshop there was one person per pole plus the "stars".  Among the stars we had Amber, Denise, Sally Ann, Kyra, and Marlo…Jenyne, Felix, Alethea, etc were not there.

The only disappointment was that the lectures and daytime performances were run simultaneously withe the workshops and it just so happened that the two workshops I signed up for coincided with a few of the day time performances.

The showcase of the starts on Saturday evening was great. Very creative and fun performances.

The vendor fair was a bit small but being the first year, I'm certain it will be much larger this year! Jessalyn put a lot of work into this and did a great job! It's unbelieveable that it was her first production.

I took Amber Rays workshop.  Hers was fun, it was 2 to a pole and we did doubles routines.  She had the most fun warm up ive ever had in a pole class.  It was very cardio and high energy. It was my first time on an xstage, chrome and spin mode.  I had a blast eventhough there were some moves I couldnt do.  I think the best part of the class was the next day Stacy of Xpole saw me and said I was really talented since she saw me in the class.

I agree about the speakers, workshops and battle were coicide with my workshop.  I really wanted to enter the BK Spins and Tricks Battle but I had my workshop at that time.  Personally I think that was an awesome idea along with the Showcase of the Stars.  I kept thinking 'omg I am seeing Felix perform LIVE!!'  Prana was my fav, along with Amber Ray, they suit my style.

Overall I had a great time, met Veeners and some of my Xpose gals.  The best highlight of the night was my friend Donna had the 'Save a Tree, Climb a pole' shirt.  Jenyne loved it so Donna got a Pole Con shirt so she could give her shirt to Jenyne!

I was in a great mood when I left, I was inspired and motivated.  Actually thats where my Battle of the Pole Studios idea was born.  I was sitting watching group performances and BAM idea hit!

If you can make it at all, do so. I was there last year in Washington and it was a ball.

No competitions, just great fun and lots of "Learning". Some spectacular demonstrations and workshops.

As Nike would say, " Just do it".

Depending on my *Hustle Game* Due to the chaos of life I had to spend the thousand dollars I set aside for this event.

I was really looking forward to it too.

    Maybe next year.

I want to go so bad. But my wedding is June 12th and I live in SC so I don't think it's going to happen. Is it terrible that I actually contemplated cancelling our wedding so I could go?

I can't wait to go! It'll be my first Pole Convention, so I'm really excited! 🙂

I'm still looking for better prices in hotels. Any suggestions? Or anyone who would like to share a room and save costs?

Moxie and I are going this year.

I fucking loved it last year.  I even almost killed a famous pole dancer with my exuberant Dry Handsing.  I met everyone and I need to call Cinnamon Boots 'cause I LOVE HER.   I miss the whole of DC, but I like the thought of visiting some nice tropical place I've never been to!
