Trade: My Art of Pole volume 1 & 2 DVDs for your Vertical Dance DVDs!
Hi, everyone! I would like to trade my two Art of Pole DVD's Volume 1 & 2, taught by Jamilla Deville, for your Vertical Dance Workout DVD's Volume 1 & 2. My Art of Pole DVD's are formatted for Region 1 (NTSC). I would need Region 1 (NTSC) for Canada and the US for the Vertical Dance ones as well; the UK ones (PAL format) would be useless for me.

I don't have those DVDs, but I wish I did. I'm curious about the Art of Pole videos.
I just wanted to let you know that if you don't care about the videos being DVD format, you can get Vertical Dance Vol. 1 & 2 as a file download on amazon.com for $9.99 USD each. That's how I got Vol.1. I watch it off my laptop during my dance practice.

Eagle, I just got the Polepeople DVD's, but I haven't done them yet…and I don't know if you want them or not!
Loopy…how do you get those downloads?! I looked ALL over Amazon.ca ('cause I'm Canadian, eh?) and couldn't find anything like this downloads thing you got goin' on. Is this a US only thing? If so, this makes me sad! I wish you could send it to me or I could download it or SOMETHING!

@ Runemist —I took a peek at amazon.ca and I didn't see the section with the downloads. I guess it is a US thing. Amazon.com has a 'Video on Demand" section which allows users to instantly stream or download movies they want to rent or buy. Is there some kind of international rules or something that prevent you from purchasing from the US site? I'm not really savvy on what limitations there may be.

Loopy: Unfortunately, I'm not allowed. It says when I try to purchase the video from Amazon.com that I must be a US resident in order to purchase the product. So…unless I can, erm, "acquire" someone's account/credit card/address, I don't think it's possible. *sigh*
Also, Sorry EagleSpirit, I suppose this is somewhat off topic, isn't it?

It goes beyond credit card numbers, you would not be able to play the videos internationally. Video licensing is a sticky, sticky business and there are many restrictions for Amazon's video delivery service.

I have the art of pole one and two. I can only play them in my computer.
Have you tried using your pc to view them. Maybe downloading a vid player like Vlc may make these usable for you.

What I did was to use software to make the DVD an MP4 and put them on my ipod which would totally fix the whole, I can only watch them on the computer thing cos the ipod is connectable to the TV so you can watch them on TV through the Ipod.

Eagle, they're just normal DVD format, I generally play them in my computer (it's a Mac) and they work just fine. They're rated for basically everything.
The only trick is that I got them like, 2 days ago, so I'm not really "finished" with them yet… >_>

Before you guys start trading DVDs accross borders remember that DVDs are region coded (to your country) and DVD players are as well, generally DVDs from one country will not play in another.

My Art of Pole discs are Pal on one side and NTSC on the other so are multi regional, anyone else lie this?

Just because they are PAL and NTSC doesn't mean they are multi-regional that is common in certain areas that have made the switch from one format to the other. The region code is a small code in the disc header that will inhibit their playback in the incorrect country. The only way to know if they are non-regioned discs or not is to find one of the utilities for your computer that will read the disc information and tell you.

Webmaster, what kind of DVD reader do I need for that? I run a Mac, so generally I just stick the disk in and it runs…
Also, I did ask the Polepeople ladies about playing their DVD's in Canada (or at least out of the UK) and they told me "We've never heard of anyone having issues playing our DVD's in any country…we've even sold to countries we had never heard of!"
My impression was that they just have DVD's that work anywhere, because as far as I could tell, the only reason for them wanting to know where I lived was so they could get them to the right address, not to encode them (or select the correctly encoded ones) for my country.
I'd like to see this codey thing, though!
