Polarity Pole Competition Submission Vids
Well, I’m always trying to stay up to date with who’s submitting for what competitions and it proves to be basically impossible since I’m always so busy. So…I thought I’d start a thread where we can post links to submission videos that we see so we’ll have a central location to watch them. It might be helpful…well for me at least. LOL

i think i might enter pole drama last minute if i can get some studio time tonight!
everyone i know is entering pole drama rather than trixster– including marlo (from pole superstar) and kyra (from USPDF national amateur)– so it will be a tough category!!

why not? it’s not like USPDF rules and regulations… and it’s a great experience just to make a video and think about what you want to submit. honestly it’s a lot harder to do 2 minutes without editing, a single great take, then i thought (realized this when i was doing my instructor video for my studio’s website). didn’t you enter another comp earlier this year charley?

I assumed that you had to send in a non edited video. I dont think I saw that as a rule.

Yea I think edited is ok, I didn’t want to do it edited but i bruised a rib and can’t really do the tricks I’m capeable of for probably annother week https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I really wanted to enter drama and do a better version of my June Challenge, went and bought a costume and everything, plus I’ve had this awesome idea cooking in my head for literally years but I’ve neverbeenable to get into a comp to do it so Drama would havebeen perfect! The beginning of my video was the origional dance I created for my trixpert entry but then my camera shit the bed and I couldn’t re record (and of corse all thegood stuff is AFTER the camera stopped) so I used what icould salvage and editeds the rest https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I submitted for Pole-Am which was disasterous becaus the day I found out about it was the day the vid was due. I have been going back and forth about this one. I am having a hard time trying to figure out what they like.
Why so few enteries for trixpert?

eeek i submitted for both pole drama and trixpert. after seeing some of those drama videos i wish i didnt hahaha my lack of a dance background reallllllllyyyyyy shows in comparison. My trixpert entry was just an older video under 2mins. There wasn’t anything that said competitors couldnt submit to both so i increased my chances and did!

You could enter both but you could only be in one. I spoke to Samantha – shes the organizer for this event. She said everyone will get thier thank you emails today and they will pick the finalists on Sunday. I am biting my nails for this. I wonder if they are gonna ask some girls to compete in trixpert if they dont have enough to compete?
I really hope I get in, im praying to the pole gods!!! I have an awesome idea for a song and have shoes and an outfit in my head. i think the difference between the two competitions, at least in my mind, is that trixpert will be judged based on the difficulty of tricks whereas pole drama is judged on overall composition, flow, and musicality– which is what pole dancing is all about, at least to me.
did you end up entering? i actually didn’t decide whether or not to enter myself until yesterday… had to scramble to get (literally) an hour of pole time at the studio to film…

I entered. i submitted for pole drama…i love theatrical pole dancing. honestly it was a great experience preparing my audition piece and choreographing something. it also gave me a chance to incorporate some traditional dance.

i am hoping that maybe the organizers realize that for hte next one, people want to see more POLE DRAMA!
there was acutally an awesome event held in NYC (organized by Kyra) which was called polesque, and the judging was based on audience applause! such an entertaining show. my friend michelle won, you can see her routine here:

All these entries are fantasic, all you ladies are wonderfull, I’ve been right there with minicoopergirl nail biting, its going to be tough I doubt I’m going to make the cut. Sunday can’t come fast enough!!!!!!

I got overly ambitious and decided last second to turn in a Trixpert vid… once I saw who all the others who submitted were, I feel kinda silly for turning one in now. Oh well – the worse they can do is say just no thank you, right?!
