Converting MP4s
I need some advice on how to convert MP4s so that they can be used with Windows Movie Maker. All of my music from iTunes is in the MP4 format and I have Windows XP as my OS. I have been using WMM because the software program I bought, Roxio Creator, is not cooperating. Anyway, does anyone know how to get your iTunes to work with WMM? I would like for my music to cover any background noise (ie from heels, the fan, kids playing outside, dogs barking, etc). Please help https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_elephant.gif

I think you can use iTunes to convert songs to MP3 format (which can be used in Windows Movie Maker).
I don’t have iTunes on this computer so I’m doing this from memory (might not be 100% accurate), but –
In iTunes:
Choose "Edit" – then "Preferences" –
Under the "General" tab – select "Importing settings" or something related to importing – choose MP3 format –
Close the Preferences menuThen in your iTunes music library, right-click on your song, and the pop-up menu should include "Convert to MP3".

Thank you for the info, Doll. I kinda got it figured out, but unfortunately, the song I want to use is protected or something and can’t be converted. You can burn the iTunes songs onto CD as an Audio CD. Then, reinsert the disc and you can import the songs via Windows Media Player to get mp3 files. This normally gets around the whole protected content thing.
Another thing you can do is play the song in iTunes and record the audio with Windows Media Player. If you look in the Help section of the menubar, it has instructions as to how to do that.
