Texas Pole Jam?
Hey all you Texans out there (maybe some Okies, too!) — would you guys be interested in doing a pole jam sometime? I want to see if there is interest, and then, if so, we could figure out the when and where. Texas is so big, I think it will be a logistical challenge!

I would love to attend a pole jam in Texas! I live in El Paso. I won’t have any chance to travel until January though, in case timing is a factor in planning the jam…!

YES, YES, YES, YES, PLEASE come to Dallas….I live in Arlington but Dallas is about 30-35 minutes from me (depending on how fast we drive….LOL) OMG I SOOOOOOO, wish you guys would come to Dallas. My funds are limited because I am trying to buy a car so me traveling out of state is IMPOSSIBLE right now. That would be awesome! I would love to get with some girls and learn a few things! I don’t have a pole yet (and being in Stephenville I don’t live close enough to classes), but I’ve been stretching and trying out some floor work! Anything in the DFW area works for me!

Woo Hoo! It definitely looks like there is enough interest to start planning this!!
Just from my quick look, it seems like the DFW area would be the place to have it. I’m thinking that 1) because StellarMotion wouldn’t be able to come, and 2) because of the holiday craziness, we should try to do it in January.

We should just all set a date El Paso being far south and Amarillo being far north. Dallas/Ft. Worth area would be a nice middle ground for everyone to meet if we could find a place to meet. I’d be willing to take down my pole and haul it with me. I’m sure other’s would too! Maybe after the holiday’s….

So — the latest!! I talked to Karyn, the owner of The Girls Room in Dallas about doing it there, and it sounds like it would be workable. She said she would need to charge $25 a person for two hours, and we could bring what ever food/drink we like. They have a really nice studio — 15 or so tall poles. (You can see the studio in Voodoochild’s vidoes.) Does that sound good? Is that enough time? Karyn’s a great lady, so I’m sure we can get something together that would be agreeable for all!
The studio is on lower Greenville, and there are a lot of clubs/bars nearby. Maybe we could do the pole jam, and then drag our tired bodies out for a "girl’s night out".
Now, for the date… How about January 16th? Maybe late afternoon/early evening?

Omg Mindy that’s awesome!!! Yaayy!!! The only thing is date and timing due to sceduled classes and parties and whatnot. For example, I have afternoon classes on every Saturday 1-3:15 (you were there once)! Lol so we just need to arrange a good time. omg this is actually going to happen!!! I am SO FREAKIN EXCITED I am jumping out of my skin! OK so as long as it is not the 1-4 or the 30th I am there I am already starting to save money now so that if we decide to go out I can go…WHOO HOOO!!! I’m gonna bring my best friend Ashley she gets on Studio Veena w/ me all the time. She is also a dancer. She will have to be my ride cause I have no car I just hope her car will make it….come hell or high water I WILL BE THERE!!!! Do you think Karyn would allow a guy to join in on the fun? I don’t know if I’ll be able to come up with enough money by then, but I’m sure willing to try, as long as the studio will have me.
I will even bring my X-pole to set up at the hotel if anyone’s down for some afterparty. I know that if I am surrounded by polers I’ll feel too inspired to just have two hours of studio time and then quit. Maybe we could even book a host of rooms in a hotel that offers a conference rate and get a modest discount across the board for all of us who are traveling there. I would be willing to do some research and phone calling.

Personally I have no problems with a male poler joining in. After all isn’t the whole point of a pole jam to have fun and learn from each other. I say the more the merrier.

I’m down to have a male poler there! WE LOVE YOU STELLER! I hope you can go…..I think we should all go out afterward too, we are all 21 and over, right? MAN if my bf was out of town I would say you could all stay here…some might need to sleep on the couches and floor but hell as longs as we are all together. LETS HOPE and pray he is out of town….oh damn wait w/o him there is no one to watch my kids….DAMN! Hi, Everybody! I saw this last week but am just getting to reply now. SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS TOPiC!!! I work with a studio in the DFW area and once in awhile local teachers with their own pole companies have gotten together for pole jams and they have been so cool!!! Just a bunch of girls helping each other out. No rules, no competition, no attitude-it has been really refreshing.
I can offer up the studio we used-it would be a "BYOP" bring your own pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif so you are using your own equipment (being this isn’t a company-sponsored event but a community get-together….thinking in terms of liabilities). The Gallery/studio has outfitted the ceiling to fit our X-Poles of the standard height (7.5-9 ft…the standard x-pole package). With the past pole jams, we usually are 2-3 girls per pole since we are spotting and cheering each other on. I’m sure those who have their poles can share. Oh! there are mats there too.
The place is called, Chi Dallas (http://www.chidallas" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) in downtown Dallas/Deep Ellum area. It’s really big and there is a kitchen and a sitting area. The only cost we would have to cover is the rental of the space for our time. Maybe 4 hours? Giving everyone enough time to plan……Just checked the schedule: Random date-Sunday, Dec. 20th starting sometime after 1 or 2 (for those who are driving into the area)? Most Saturdays are booked so Sundays are best days that we could get good chunk of hours. …please know it is ONLY the studio rental that we need to cover. NOTHING else. If we can get at least 10 of us to there, we can keep the cost minimal-under $25 each. If there were 20 girls, then it would be $13/each.
I’ll be happy to set it up an RSVP page for the Texas Pole Jam if everyone is up for it. On that page, you could see who is coming and if they are bringing a pole. We could probably invite other girls to the Jam and expose them to StudioVeena too. Oh-we could video and post it!
last note….Jenyne Butterfly was here recently and she mentioned how cool it was in California that a lot of studios and Polers really support one another. I see that happening here on StudioVeena-which is such a great forum that truly does allow us to support each other. I try to tell everyone about the site. Let’s do the same in Texas!!!

Hi! I"m updating my post-Just saw the rest of the conversations and see jan 16th @ the girls room….cool! Some of the girls who have gotten together at the Jams before work or worked there.
I’ll leave the dec. 20th date out there since I mentioned it to a few others girls and they are up for a dec. 20th time. Everyone is still welcome. If you are interested, let me know! Mindy-thanks for starting this!!
