Hello from Michigan!
Hi! I’ve been reading the forum for a few weeks now, but I just subscribed to the lessons, and they’re wonderful! I’ve been pole dancing for less than 2 months and I’ve had my pole for almost a month. I take lessons at a studio, but it’s so nice to be able to practice at home with the Veena lessons!

I am also from MI! I am familiar with the Canton area, my boyfriend used to live there and I am in the nursing program at Schoolcraft right now. I see the other "Michiganders" have said hi to you as well. All of us girls get together periodically and pole. In fact, we are having a pole jam this Monday at my house in Ferndale. Sorry you can’t make it, maybe next time. I am actually in the LPN to ADN program, so I just started it in May as they are in their second year and I bypassed the first year classes. So far, I like it. Much easier than OCC which is where I got my my LPN license. I only have to take six classes altogether and I’ll be finished in April! So I can’t wait.

I live in Burton which is a suburb outside of Flint. I am a bit farther away from the rest of you, but would like to get to know the rest of the Michiganders here! I have been poling for about 2 months. -

I took Pole Addiction’s Beginner 1 class, but now I practice at home. However, I’m kind of just getting back to it, so I’m thinking about classes again.

Yep, it’s me! I guess it has been quite a while! I wish I could say my poling has progressed, however it’s more the opposite. I’m trying to get back into it though.

There is a growing Michigander pole dance community! I hope you can make it to one of our jam sessions. Honestly Jenn has done a fabulous job of throwing pole jams and bringing people together. We’ve all tried to bring in everyone and it’s so awesome to see so many people poling.
If anyone from MI wants updates on pole jams add me, jenn or bertysbooboo as a friend. We try to get together as often as possible and EVERYONE is invited. We don’t care if it’s your first day on the pole or not, come and have fun with us https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Does anyone know where there are other places to take lessons besides Pole Addiction?

Charley teaches at PoleFit Revolution in Madison Heights, and sometimes at a pilates studio in Commerce Township. I believe Untamedshrew takes lessons at a new studio in Lake Orion, I am not sure of the name of it though. Other than that, there is Vixen Fitness in Detroit, and maybe a few other new places. But none of the studios around here teach any advanced pole. Most of them are a spin-off of Pole Addiction, which is beginner/intermediate for the most part.
