    Wow,

I love the way this looks. I was wondering if anyone would be able to put up a short tutorial on it. I really want to learn this spin. I have the reverse grab down pretty good so I know I should be able to pull the pretzel off. Can someone help me out.

    Thanks,
    Hotkiss

I learned this on static and I’ve never even dared to try even the reverse grab on a spinny pole… I’m afraid I’ll go flying out the window. So yes, definitely possible on static.

My problem is getting high enough off the ground. By the time I "pretzel" I’m 2 inches off the floor so there’s not much room for spinning while in that position. *sigh* If only my ceilings were that few inches higher… and if my grip was good enough that I don’t slide down quite as fast… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Thank you for starting this thread and to all you ladies that posted videos. I’ve always loved this spin but didn’t know what it was called. So I practiced on my awesome new x-pole that arrived yesterday, thanks for the fast shipping Veena I was going into pole deprevation without one up to practice with (had to get rid of the lil mynx, my ceilings are too short in my new place by a 1/2 inch), and I can do it in sweat pants but, take those off the the skin sticks like the dickens. Too nervous to try even the revers grab in spin mode yet. Oh well. More practice for me.

That’s such a good question Sascha! It seems like once you’re done spinning you’re stuck in that pretzel position LOL. I would go back to Veenas vid to watch how she does it but I can’t youtube at work…..and that is really starting to get in the way of my pole video watching habit https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

I think Joy does a great exit from the pretzel spin and I’ve been working on doing it this way also…

the foot that is wrapped around the pole needs to drop to where your toes touch the floor and as you spin, your body can unwind from the pole and pirouette off of it….I have a vid at home where I did it on spin mode…I’ll try to post it tonight after my class.

I just watched this video on YouTube of Sarah at Rock the Pole doing an exit from the pretzel like what Roxy was describing. It’s at about the 2 minute mark:

ahhh..I didn’t post a vid..because all the ones that I have don’t show my feet…you can see the spin, but when I turn out of it you don’t see the floor! I’m hoping to practice tomorrow..so I’ll make sure to get a clip of it…feet and all!!

thank you so much for posting that roxy!!! i cant wait to try it tomorrow, i always got stuck in the pretzel afterwords which totally defeated the beauty of the move when i’d awkwardly untangle myself lol. i loved the song too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

    Roxy,

Great video! I’ve been practing this for a little bit now and I keep hitting my toe and foot against the pole. I have damaged my big toe nail as its a bruise under the nail. I’m ready to try again and this video was very helpful as closer to the end it seemed like it played in slower motion for me to see exactly how to position my body.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hotkiss!

I was going to try doing more of a tutorial…but it’s kind of hard to hold that position when your not spinning!:) So I figured i’d post what I had and then help more if needed. It’s tricky at first especially when you are trying to put your foot down and then spin off of the pole at the same time…I still bang my knee sometimes!:)

Nope..not at all! If my foot is too close to the pole I will hit it right on the knee.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
