I agree with Veena. What type of newbie are you? There are so many conditions you can do to master your Ayesha but all depends on where you are at. Let us know and I’m sure we can all give you pointers 😉

I’m sure you have heard it from everyone hear but it is common. Sad but common. I think we all experienced this in one way or form. I know I did. First, you must have thick skin whether you know a trick or not someone is always going to say something. Don’t let that stop you… GO TO CLASS!! This will only make you stronger. I did the same thing but then I was like “who cares! I love this and nothing is going to stop me”. I then started meeting a lot of nice ladies and you will too. Just give it a chance. You’ll know who to talk too. =)

I get nervous all the time! Not just for group performances but also solos. Here are some tips that work for me… first find the song and you need to LOVE it! Listen to it a few times and image what type of story you are trying to tell with those lyrics. Try to come up with either the beginning or the end and one trick. Doesn’t mean a whole minute. For example, right now I just finished my routine I’m going to perform in 2 weeks. I started off with just sliding up and down the pole with my silks. That’s all I needed to get inspired. Once you have a few things, record it. Even if it doesn’t look good. Keep adding. Once you have something you can always go back and change it. But if you keep changing it, you’ll never get there. We are are worst critic.

It’s called a fang. There are a few ways to get into it. You can cross release, slide to an arrow ( which is similar) and reposition the arm. But you need to be careful, you can get off balanced. I think I saw someone do it from going into a brass monkey. I’m going to try it. 😉

If you nevered pole with heels and are not use to them I would start short like 4″. That way you can start building up your confidence and strength. Then once you do, you can start moving up. I’m at 8 inches now 😉

I get dizzy as well especially now since I work on silks with pole. It’s always on spin. I usually practice for hours but then started to feel sick so did some research. I found Motioneaze to work well. You put this oil behind your ear. Smell is ok but does the job. Ginger gum works as well.
