I wanted to update this thread in case anyone is considering doing insanity. I feel a lot more energized this second week. I also feel stronger than ever. Even my upper body strength has improved, I can feel it when I invert. So excited about doing the whole program now! I have increased my caloric intake and me and hubby are waiting for protein powder and a post workout drink to arrive. I think the extra calories are necessary for me since I don’t want to lose weight, just fat.

Paulettepoles – I actually feel better tonight since I had a snack before the workout.

Smokinangel- so happy to hear that the energy came back! I got on the pole for a bit after today’s workout but didn’t get to do much. My legs are so sore!

I am worried about losing upper body strength so I guess I will have to force myself to train for inverts. I looked up the nutrition guide online and it seems like I need to eat more. Maybe getting more calories in my diet will help with energy. Thanks for sharing ur experience with the program : )

I’ve done the jillian dvds but hubby doesn’t like them and part of doing them with him is to keep him motivated so we picked insanity since p90x is even more time consuming. This program is so intense though, nothing like p90x…I’m having trouble keeping up. Maybe I need to eat more proteins or buy a supplement drink. Thanks for chiming in! I hope tohear from others here.

Thanks for the response. I will try to pole everyday unless I’m too sore, then I will take a day off. I just need to see some improvement… I love dancing but would like to incorporate new tricks to my routines.

I was a pretty chunky girl when I went through puberty so I have a lot of tiny stretchmarks on my inner thighs along with some on my belly from my two pregnancies. However I’ve been doing scorpios and geminis for about a year now and no new stretch marks have appeared. My old stretch marks have stayed the same as well. Maybe ur friend got stretch marks from building muscle due to poling and not because of contact with the pole ?

I forgot to mention that I have listened to the song a million times and gave also danced to it but I end up forgetting everything I know and it ends up being 99 percent dancing / 1% tricks or spins.

Thanks ladies! I will have to look into the wide angle length pick a camera that can use it. My poling space is a little tight so I would definitely need it.

When u say turns,do u mean when u start with the right hand holding the pole and then turning in place? Just trying to get a better idea.

I went home and turn the tube a bit more and it is very sturdy now. I marked the floor at the beginning of practice and it didn’t move at all the whole time. Thanks Chem!

They sell a non skid floor pad for use on hard wood and tile floors so I bought it since my smooth concrete is similar to tiles. However it feels better with just the rubber feet. I’m going to twist it more tonight but when I tried yesterday it wouldny twist any more so I figured it was tight enough.

Just tries the sample lessons and it still did not work. Do I have to enable something on my phone or change my settings? It would be great to be able to watch the lessons without having to be on my pc.

I still can’t tuck well but my basic invert is flawless. You can keep inverting, just don’t try going into the chopper using momentum to avoid getting hurt. Focus on making ur scorpio and geminis prettier un the mean time and keep working on some conditioning exercises.

You can start by doing just one and coming down, then trying again after a break. Starting slow is always better, at least for me 🙂

Congrats! I struggle with inverts still some days but they do get easier with practice. There is one particular conditioning exercise that has helped me the most. Climb the pole and then hold urself to the side just like u would to invert from the floor. With ur legs straight try to bring them up as high as possible and the back down. This has helped me controll my inverts better. Good luck !
