i have really been working on flexibility the last 2 months, and have def. gotten more flexy. still don't have my splits, but getting close..
-
@ kaylie – i am 45 minutes away from wailea.. about 20 minutes from paia, in haiku. i know that's a bit of a stretch. how lucky you get to go to wailea often! well if you ever have time to get upcountry, please message me! 🙂
@catscruzn – yay!! i will be around then. space is looking good, new pole on the way!
i probably should have mentioned that i will be away from 5/20 – 6/29.
-
@maindiva tash – i would love to meet you! thanks!

YES chumpchkin! and you don't have to sleep on the pole – you can sleep on my crash mattress, or in the guest bedroom, lol. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

@paulette – i'm embarrassed to say i don't know how to post a link. but if you are on facebook, and you type "maui pole fitness" into the search bar, it should come right up. maybe someone can enlighten me, lol.. also, my regular facebook page is "tara hankey"
@fever and gummypia – no need to take a "class" – just come and jam! 🙂
-
yay! so happy to hear good things about my new pole. it was hard to make a decision! 🙂
-
@lyme – i think you can take it to an auto body place. there was a thread about it a while ago.. good luck! i don't have much problem with my 50 as far as size, just slipperyness. but i think i will love the 45. 🙂
@sensual – i got a black one 🙂
-
ahhh, NYC. that explains it! they have everything there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

what! chemgoddess is being silly? LOL
-
hey rixi – i like shiva rea's "yoga shakti" dvd the best. you get to choose from a menu of four different practices. it's my favorite. i also like rodney yee's "power yoga" and "intermediate yoga" dvd's. i studied for many years when i was much younger. there are many different styles, but there is really only one yoga. "hatha" yoga just refers to the branch of yoga that deals with the bodily postures (there are other branches such as breathing, meditation, etc.) 🙂
@heathalynne – wow, that is amazing that you have tried all of those styles, in less than two years! you are lucky to have so many studios in your area (or do you travel?)
-
sorry chemgoddess! we must have been typing at the same time! LOL
-
i ordered it! (btw the ps brass would have been 603 w shipping, l'il mynx 394) 🙂
-
never mind https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif
i ordered the l'il mynx! the PS brass would have been $209 more (with shipping)!
-
yes, i hope so! the same one as you! do you still like yours?
-
it's the same way for me, shellectra. it's always so disappointing at first! i find that the more times i repeat the splits stretch, though, the further i can get down. i am pretty close on my right fronts and getting better with left fronts. i alway make sure to warm up first because i don't want to tear anything. 🙂
-
hey! would love to pole with you. i only have one pole at my home "studio", though (it's a 50mm SS platinum stages) there's a good mountain biking place not too far, in the makawao forest, so you might be visiting my area. i just started a facebook page, called "maui pole fitness."
there is also a studio (with 2 SS lil mynx poles) on the west shore, in lahaina. it's called the pole room – there is a website. i took some classes there when i was first learning. the instructor is amanda, she is great! 🙂
-
yah, i doubt there are any studios in that area. colebrook is a tiny little town. my brother moved up there about 5 years ago because it's so inexpensive to live. but there is nothing there. the center for circus arts in vermont sounds awesome though! 🙂

my hubby and i will be driving up there from southern nh (amherst – where HIS son lives) just for one day and one night. he has never met my dad or my brother, so that will be enough, lol.
