Hi Runemist https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif you should definitely post some videos so that you can get used to receiving complements and encouragement, and then you can also practice saying "thanks" and feeling good about yourself!!! there is nothing wrong with humility, it's a very good quality as far as i'm concerned. how to not get dragged down? i guess if you have your own standards for yourself, that is more important than trying to live up to others' standards. as far as pole, the whole point is to have fun and feel good about yourself, and we are all here to support each other 🙂

Hey Sues https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif Like Veena said, this happens to all of us at some point. I would definitely work on those strengthening exercises, but also focus on having FUN just dancing and being sexy, put on some music that you love and just practice the "easy" stuff, work on your hip circles, turns and other transitional moves. Some days I don't have enough energy to get on the pole, so I put on a dvd and just do "warmup" stretches and floorwork. Hope you are feeling better soon!!

Hey JeHann! let me know if it worked! I forgot to mention, don't worry about making sure the battery is parallel. I could never do this, and it didn't seem to matter. they say it helps the lights not to go off when not in use. mine used to light up whenever I opened the closet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif sadly last night I couldn't get them to work. guess I need new batteries too 🙁

MemberFebruary 28, 2011 at 11:47 pm in reply to: How to change battery on Ellie light up shoes?Hmm… well I went and found the instructions. they may be useless if your shoes are made differently, but maybe they are the same. 1. open the channel (to get into the shoe where the lights are) with a letter opener or similar object. 2. remove the plastic film from under the battery. the plastic film between the battery and the circuit board is used to conserve battery life. 3. make sure the battery is not tilted when you close the channel, try to keep it as parallel as possible. That's it for instructions. I had to replace the batteries because I did not take them out before shipping them across the country when I moved, and they got used up. okay… now to go find the shoes….. well it sounds like they are the same. If you look at the metal housing, there is a horseshoe shaped opening right where the wires are attached, and you can use a letter opener to push the battery out of the housing, and then just slide/pop the new battery in. they are regular watch batteries. I hope it works! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

MemberFebruary 28, 2011 at 7:13 pm in reply to: How to change battery on Ellie light up shoes?Hi Jehanne, I have a pair of Ellie lightups that came with an instruction sheet. I don't know if yours are the same as what I have, but when the shoes arrive, you have to fully insert the battery into place before they will light up. That's because during shipping they get tossed around so much that it would waste the battery. Also, if they need replacing, just bring the battery to any store that sells watches, and they will find the correct match for you. These batteries are very inexpensive. My shoes only have one battery in each shoe. I hope this helps!!

Maybe a nice club, but this place sounded kinda low class…

Looks great! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I am also working on the star. I am having a problem with my inside arm (not being able to straighten it fully and getting (stuck) below the knee). I've gotten it a few times, and then other times I can't get it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif

Hi Poletwista https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif Thanks for bringing this up! I have been wanting to say something but didn't want to come across as complaining. I definitely like the "old" system of posting and replying to comments much better. It just felt more personal being able to reply to each individual comment, and also getting notifications for the comment replies by email. I myself feel bad that I am not able to take the time to watch and comment on everyone's videos!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif

Hi, yes I covered it with a fitted sheet but I had to cut the sheet so that it would fit around where I cut the pad to the middle (so that it would fit around the pole) and then sewed it as best as I could. It's just a regular black sheet 🙂

I use a 6" foam mattress topper that I bought on amazon.com. I don't remember all of the details about it, but it wasonly around $85 for a queen size and shipping was free. you can see it in some of my older videos. the easiest way to cut the foam is with a saw. you need two people, though (one to hold the mattress topper), lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif and it makes a big mess, but it beats spending $200 in some 2" mat. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

to minicoopergirl – videopad is awesome! do you know how much it costs? and does it come with prism converter (I noticed that when I saved my movie, it automatically opened prism and started converting it) or do you have to purchase prism as well?

Hey Everyone, I finally had a chance to play with WMM today. I used Any-Video-Converter to convert my .mov file to a .wmv file, then uploaded it to WMM. It all seemed to work fine. I used the same video as my last upload (tarah-practice) so you can compare them. I'm not sure how good the quality will be. I'm going to upload it to SV right now…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif

Hi Hookedonpole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I have a kodak easyshare C533 camera. I've had it for over 4 years and I love it. I've always used the kodak easyshare software for viewing and editing photos. since my camera also takes videos, I started using if for SV. my camera automatically transfers the videos to easyshare for viewing, editing, saving to computer, etc. I am able to trim the beginning and endings of videos, or cut them, but not splice. that's why I've been looking for a way to do it preferable for free, 'cause why pay for something if there's a good free version. I used the prism video converter for converting .mov to .wmv, saving it to my computer, then uploaded into WMM. except I had the new version of WMM, and couldn't figure it out. I just got WMM version 2.6 which looks like what is described in the how-to for WMM forum thread. anyway prism video converter came with Videopad and they were both free. but I didn't get around to using Videopad. I got my movie uploaded into it, but didn't try to edit. then they both expired. SO that's where I am, I'm sorry I haven't accomplished more but hopefully this is a help to you, or we can try to help each other while we're both figuring it out, lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif

Hello UTpoler, hookedonpole, & minicoopergirl https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif thanks for all your helpful info!! I'm glad I found this thread. If I don't have good results with WMM, I'm going to try Videopad. I still haven't had time to play with things (maybe that's good because I've been gathering information which will save me alot of time once I get into stuff). Will let you all know when I get something accomplished, lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif

Hi Journey https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_viking.gif Thank you so much! I think your instructions will work. I haven't had time to play with it yet. It will be great to be able to upload some decent videos. In my last video, I stopped to wipe the pole, and at one point lifted my butt right in front of the camera! not good!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_elephant.gif

Hey Everyone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif This is an Awesome thread you all have going. I was so glad to find it, because I have been thinking about this myself lately. I've been feeling like, what is the point of learning all of the moves and tricks if I don't even look good doing them. the tricks may look good, but they are just the accents of the dance. I definitely want to find my "inner dancer" who just knows how to move naturally to the music and express her own individual personality and sensuality. thank you, runemist, for starting this and to everyone who has contributed.

hi foxy, thank you so much for posting these very long instructions! I just installed WMM version 2.6 (instead of the newer one) and I'm hoping your instructions will work for this one?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_geek.gif
