Hi Clinky, there are actually pictures of the Knot in the wikipole (2 variations).
Black widow, it's actually a stag spin or some called it reverse sunwheel spin.

WOW! I'm so loving that vid right now!

You need vocals for your theme music? Try checking out no 1) & no 2):
1) From 2:12 onwards, the music does sound more upbeat…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVlFCNvp2zI
2) This is a fusion of classical & contemporary, very energetic, see how you like it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V0opKObsPY
3) There are movies' soundtracks too. Try checking out these on youtube too.
i) The curse of the golden flower
ii) The red cliff
iii) Crouching tiger, hidden dragon
iv) Hero
v) The house of flying daggers
vi) The last samurai
Good luck with listening & choosing!

Sorry to hear about your pole! Probably you’ll need some time to get used to it? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif
I have chrome. The first time I started learning (especially spins), ouch my hand(s) had calluses & nearly ripped my skin off, too! Obviously, I had the beginner’s death grip.
I love chrome, I found that it can be really grippy if I keep the pole real clean, too.I have the 45mm Stainless Steel Xpole.
Btw, didn’t know there’s stainless steel Xpole? I should think it’s chrome…. -
I always thought the move pictured is a version of plank as well. I also thought the difference between the hello boys and the wrist seat is that the hello boys has both hands on top rather than one below to sit on. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif
In Art of Pole DVD, Jamilla calls wrist seat as hello boys. While with both hands on top, she calls it advanced hello boys. Names, names..everyone’s confused. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Such a hilarious vid!
Now let see if they can learn to do pole sit-up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
LOL!! -
interesting! My 1st was chair spin, how it took lots of strength just to spin! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Poletopia will be a company that will offer unique pole dance items.
Awesome! So happy to hear this! I like number 5 (no stamp with slanted words). Reason? Since the gemini pose esp the extended leg is kind of "slanting", https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif the slanted words seem to complement it! Good luck in choosing & to your business, too! -
Your cat is really cute, look at those eyes!
Well, they must have been wondering what humans are doing up there & now view us as their amusement instead! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif -
I sure did! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I had decorating on my mind so much I didn’t even start with a hello to everyone that was on https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif , sorry about that *shifty eyed* https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
No worry, lady! I know you just couldn’t contain that excitement that somehow you need to let us know! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Wounded Pole Warrior https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif
A gash on your finger, ouch! That never felt good! Once I was so determined to get the spin up (@ low lift spin?) right, when I extended the outside leg, bam! I hit a standing fan on the floor. Luckily, nothing major but, how the bone of the right leg hurts for the next few hours! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif
Yup, need to remind ourselves to be more careful every time we pole.Btw, what an amusing name – Wounded Pole Warrior! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

While brainstorming decor ideas for a shed with little windows that I plan on converting into a pole room, I pictured curtains with Studio Veena’s logo on them! We NEED curtains! We HAVE to have them! A good idea, right? You know it is!
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Haha! Great that you actually bring this idea up after talking about it in chat today! Now all you have to do is ~fingers crossed~ https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

This one is difficult ‘coz loads of poses look great! Here goes: Jade (on spinning pole), Scorpio handstand, Superman variation, Dove, Serpentine, Stargazer, Elisabeth Back Split. They might have other names, let me know if you wish to see pics!

Stardust, I’m in the process of trying to get an international day going as well, I think if we do it in the morning here in the states, it will be eveningish for those of you all over the world!!! I will let you know!
See you all on thursday!!!
Thanks Sosagely, so thoughtful of you! Evening time on weekends for the rest of us around the world sounds good! Btw, I’m 14 hours ahead of you (mountain time). Sure, I’ll be waiting for your message then & have a great stretch this Thursday! -
Ooh Sosagely, I wanna’ so be there, but I know the time zones to fit everyone (especially around the world) is a major challenge! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif But, glad to read that all of you had a good stretch on Thurs. Hope to chat with you soon! Cheers

For your instructor’s bio – interesting! Agree – getting in all 3 styles in is difficult, not mentioning having to choose the right song! Which 3 styles you personally love best? If you choose the style which you feel suits you best, I think you have a better chance in bringing out your own personality & dance style in your vid. Who knows, probably when one potential student sees your vid, she would go like "Wow, I wanna’ be just like her!" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
-
Hhmm…when I was still a non-poler (the first time I saw pole dancing), I love no 2.
But, right now I’m doing it, I love no 3.
I guess you are trying to get some sort of survey of what attracts ppl to a studio to learn pole dancing? If it’s possible, probably all three choices sounds like a good idea? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif
Let us know what’s your final decision then. Good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif -

MemberJune 6, 2010 at 3:35 pm in reply to: Jamilla’s Art of Pole series and new Routines DVDHi
I read from the forum somewhere but, can’t remember which post – is it correct that there’s another discount code that just came out recently for subscribers to buy the Jamilla’s DVDs? If yes, appreciate if anyone can let me the code? (I didn’t get it though?) I plan to buy the rest of the DVDs asap to get me out of the pole rut soon! Thanks

These pics are really beautiful! I love taking pics of sceneries, too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
