Yikes! I’m sorry 🙁
Walking is awesome. If you want something more intense, try insanity. They do have some push-up/arm moves, but they are easily skippable. I like to do that as a cardio/cross training on days my arms are sore!
Luck with recovery! -
I know summers are often slow. I bet when fall rolls around class enrollment will pick back up again. Second the benefits to learning on your own, too. Helps you know what to ask about/look for in class!

Agree with everything previously said about diet. Also, drink LOTS of water.
I actually push harder on cardio without an audience. If you Zumba on the Wii, do it. A heartrate monitor is a good bet, but the “talk test” works, too. It should be moderately hard to talk. For me, maybe 4-5 words per breath. Either way, consistency is your friend. Good luck! -
Currently in Seattle, but might be moving to silverdale. Corby, we should totally pole jam sometime!

If you still have the bendability set, let me know!

To me, there’s a difference in the terminology.
You “have” a move when you can do it consistently (barring tight shoulders/no grip).
You’ve “mastered” a move when you can dance it. -
For pole moves, jamilla all the way! She is awesome at breaking things down.

Heh, p90x is awesome! I credit my aerial invert to the ab ripper DVD 🙂
Feel free to pm me if you have any questions or need some motivation, I’m a Beachbody coach. -
Burt’s bees rescue ointment. Best stuff ever for the burn!
Never tried slapping before. Tried it after once…boy was that a mistake… -
Heh, figures. *runs off to do more ab work*
Thanks for the help ladies!

perfect tip amy! I was able to hold it out and do a super sad wave, lol.
sassafrassle – i know what you mean… holy upper abs!
Any tips for then shouldermounting after the wave? Or is it just practice and condition?

ETED = Empowerment through exotic dance. Been staring at the spreadsheet too long.. everything is abbreviated in my head. Btw, Vertical Dance = VD… hehe

Embrace and no hands cradle. My tummy just isn’t used to that level of burn, especially my belly button!

Took me about a week and a half before I had pole energy again, but it does get better! In general, more food, more protein. I kept up regular poling and did insanity to tone/strengthen lower body. Good luck and have fun!

Not trying to hijack the thread, but sensualscimitar would you mind sharing your neck stretches?
-
I’ve done both! If you’re going for weight loss, I’d say insanity. Your legs will burn, but it’s fun. P90x is definitely good for upper body/core strength, but I fidnt follow the diet plan so while I got stronger, I didn’t really lose body fat. It does take up a lot of time, though. You could look into p90x2. It just came out. I started it last week and so far like it better than the original. Workouts are shorter, more core focused, and he incorporates foam rolling and resistance stretching. Anyway, if you have more questions or want more in depth reviews, let me know!

That makes sense. I'll try getting hip flexors extra warm first next time. Thanks for the advice! Off to stretch them now… lol

Those curlers look awesome!
Runemist – I’m pretty sure I do everything you say not to, no wonder my hair is frizzy! 🙂
Time to experiment… I’ll let y’all know how it goes! Thanks for the tips! -

Once I start to flip I can’t keep both hands on the pole. If I do, I get that falling forward feeling ’cause my butt is higher than my head. Try throwing down some couch cushions and taking the bottom hand off earlier. Make sure you really arch the chest up, it can help to look up. I don’t cross my legs but it’s personal preference, I think. Trying it close to the floor is always a good idea, too. Good luck!
