You KNOW you’re a pole dancer two years after you break your hip and agree to have the pins and hardware removed because you miss poling so much.
Yep. I’m still checking out the Venna site and missing it every damn day. So in about 2 weeks I’m having them remove the hardware. I wasn’t even that good at it but something about poling touched my spirit and o have to try and be able to go back to it.

my hubby just took on remondeling a party boat … I thought you know you are MARRIED to a pole dancer when the guys at work tease him about putting a pole on the party boat and he slipps up and says yeah but don't you have to anchor it to the ceiling…since you don't have a ceiling you can't do that…then he was pleaseantly surprised when I said:

OH BUT BABY, you sure can put one on there..they make them to take all over the place now. Then he asked would you want one on it…would I want one…HELL YEAH!!!  Now let's get busy and see what we can do to get this party boat on the high seas!! LOL

I love this part of the blog:

AP: “You know all you are doing is encouraging men to have a very one-dimensional view of how women should look, behave and act!”

YOU: “Really?  Would you like to tell that to the 60-year-old woman in my dance class?  Or the woman who, at 35, after two kids, is in the best shape of her life and more sexually confident than she has ever been?  Anyway, I’m not sure I understand your point.  What do you do to arouse interest in your partner?  How do you behave when you are turned on, hmmm?  How do you express pleasure in your body?  Because that’s what this is about.  It’s about finding ways of moving that feel good to you, that give you and maybe someone else pleasure.  Oh and as for the objectification part, could you please define that word for me?”

    I'm almost 60!!!!! Holla!!!!!!  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

I normally say brush off what people say but in this case when it comes to YOUR job…no way I would stand for that. Their are like azillion attorneys that would love to jump on this not to mention EOEC and trust me generally they don't mess around with that stuff. You cannot fire someone or threaten to fire someone or coerce them into something. That is flat out illegal.  Obviously this guy does not know what kind of liabilty he has put this corporation in. I would by pass the little people and send a letter to the head of the company or their legal department explaing that one of their managers is currently discriminatting agaisnt the company's employees. Corporations do not take kindly to be put in legal jepordy. I mean its no different than saying I found out you are a baptist and if you don't stop going to that church you are fired.

Fro some reason ignorant people seem to compute pole fitnes or dancing or whatever you want to call as the person doing it being stupid, of low ,oral terpitude, and of all things unsanitary….RELLY?????? Sounds like he is the idiot here and not too smart in the managerial department either for doing something so ridiculous. Again when it comes to your job, education, where you live, ect people cannot pick and choose who they want to dicriminate against because of their personal beliefs. Just like you can't fire someone because of their age, color, whether they are a parent or not and host of other things. Now if you were dancing on the tables maybe…lol  As for the woman customer just magine if she saw what they did to her kids food at a fast food resturant….

be aware though the clothes from China do run REALLY small…I bought a pair of metallic boy short sort of things I couldn't them on…lol

  • @CapFeb with my girls they were at my house and I put on some music and it just kinda happened. I think when the music is on everybody wants to try a pole if its in the room. lol  Maybe ahe just needs some private time with some music she likes on and a little encouragement. The biggest thing to get by for us older gals is no way I'll look completely stupid..so no way I'm doing it. Even if they don't say it outloud.  Maybe even show her a couple of easy things and remind her even though she is your Mom you think she is beautiful and you think she would really enjoyexpressing herself because she should never think she is too old to do anything. Maybe even leave her alone with the pole…yep that usually works for anyone…can anybody see me???? hmmm music on… nobody around..maybe just one little try. 🙂

  • how did that happen???  LOL …me too !  Aging does take a toll on the body but I think poling is great for our total well-being.  How funny I found this now…I think I hit the big "M" thing and I realized nobody talks about except the tv commercials which seem to all have the miracle cure. I had a partial hysterectomy when I was pretty young but I was lucky had one ovary left and I guess it kept on chugging along through the years because I never needed HRT but the last couple of week it hit me..I think this it!!!!
Can't sleep, can't sleep, can't sleep and I noticed other weird things and now I think maybe that hormonal emotional swing thing is happening and I am just like WTH is happening. I started some otc stuff but I noticed that my patience level is horrible and I have cared for babies for over 30 years so patience I have always had but now I just feel I don't know rough around the edges…tensed up and heated up…good lord I found that I had the AC on 71 and I have always had it at 76-78 degrees. My dogs are looking at me like I've lost my mind….Truthfully it's kinda freaking me out and thought about bringing it up on here but wasn't sure how…Oh and I am way too tiny for my taste to start with and after a broken healing since January the muscle mass was already in trouble…now I lost down to 100 and that is freaking me out even more. I have no appetite…no sleep….no patience..geez no wonder they don't talk about it ..its kind of terrifying. lol
Hi, I'm 56 and menopausual…..eeeeeeeek  that just scares me saying

Its scary but I think we all want to tell because we all love it so.  My Mom cane to see me a few months ago and I was still recovering from a broken hip (not from the pole) and I decide to make her a video of the the videos I posted on SV that I was most proud of it. I had already told her about the pole in the living room because I didn't want to take it down but I thought the video would help her see how much happiness it brings me. Due to disablities I have I spend a lot of time at home alone and I knew she worried about me and I thought she would feel better knowing about my poling if she accepted it.

Well she kept saying oh look at that and look at that..how did you learn this…lol  When she ot through watching it she asked if I could make her dvd to take home. I declined because there was a reason she wanted it ..to show it off because she was proud of me. I knew though that others might not be so understanding if she popped in the DVD player for entertainment LOL.  My sister on the other hand may have a clue because I post lots of stuff about poling on my page not just about me poling but I'm going to hold off on that for a while. All 3 of my daughters came over a few weeks ago and I talked even the one who is really uncomfortable with it to try it out…of course we had to fight the grandkids for turns because they are way better than any of us.  They will either accept it or they won't but when you love something so much it is hard to hide it because you want to share it. Its a great thing when it works out weel like me.

well i got it to practice hard moves on becaue it was static but trust me I will be careful because I am not about to mess upp and have to wait almost a year again… besides btween the pole and the metal in my hip and leg I can't have more more metal to deal with…lol   But I will probably never be able to invert anyway because of my hands so I at least don't have to worry about that and I have learned not to jump on the pole which is how I originally thought you guys got on there….lol So I will see how it feels. Thing is I won't sell it or give it away because I don't want anyone else to get hurt either.

I was like yeah, really!!!  lol Yeah and I posted all kind of video of polers on fb during the olympics becaue I really think that polers should be there…the fabulous polers ARE athletes and please someone said well but they don't wear much clothes…and I was like and the runners and other people did?

Btw when you go to put it up…and try to get it straight use your eyes to line it up with something straight like the frame of a door, a big piece of furniture or if you have paned windows use that as a guide.  Oh I meant to tell everyone…I spent hours the last two times still trying to get it straight then it hit me I have a CROOKED wall in my house so had I realized that sooner it would have been much easier. Damned crooked wall…https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif  also if you have problems there are so many people here to help you. ok, so I'll make a confession years ago someone very close to started dancing at a club…yes, the waitress first then the dancing I was mortified!  Had no understanding of it and never connected it all to my own love of hitting the night clubs and dancing and grinding and whirling. I can't say I came to accept it at that time because it was many, many years ago when it was just not a thing you did. Now I feel bad for that.

Then a couple of years ago I stumbled across Venna's videos on Youtube looking for a way to try and find a way to build up my body because I am so small. I saw Veena and flipped… for weeks all I could do was watch one after another then I joined the Free Studio Veena online..starting reading the stories and then when I realized you could actually take classes at health clubs I was elated but I live in a very small town so the closest thing I could find was bellydancing. I signed up and they canceled the class because there wasn't enough participation.  So when I realized you could actually buy your own pole I was like WHAT!!! a pole in your house. well I put a Venna membership on my hubby's credit card and my journey began. He thought I was completely insane …well until he saw my first dance. It wasn't great but it was unexpected. lol

After that I found I also loved "THOSE" shoes and had to have some…now I have a closet full. lol  Ten I got a few little yoga/dance shorts/crop tops…followed by gloves and leg protectors..followed by some sexy little outfits but I realized I was addicted long before that.

So quickly approaching 57 years old and my pole stands in my living room and sometimes I hate to fight for time with it because my 6 year old autistic grandson who is with us a lot has taken to it as well and really it has almost been therapy for him. So I guess Veena and Youtube…then everyone here who have been amazing and last but not least tht instant feeling of impowerment, fun and pull to the pole that makes me know when I do have to give it up ine day I will never ever be sorry I tried it. And I have since told that person I loved so much that I have an understanding now of how she was able to be a dancer in a club. Because back then when she went to work she loved the pole and they didn't have poles in your house back then. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif and that is my story…along with the wish I was much healthier and younger so I could do it for many more years.

I just took a spin on it and I was hopelessly in love https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I bought a Carmen Electra pole too…I haven't put it up yet I wanted it as a second pole since my beginner pole was a spinny. And you are a tiny thing that's kinda scares me about the CE pole. I got it also because my spinny is a 45mm and I am so skinny its hard for me to get a good grip to climb ect and was hoping a little bigger diamenter would help.
