The website looks absolutely incredible. Well done guys – beautiful! Also, love the welcome video on the homepage.

These are probably such valuable tips… I am going to give all of these some thought when I practice this next time. Will still post a video if I'm not getting it. Havent tried this move on a static pole, or without trying to 'add spin' as such – which logically thinking, might be a great place to start huh? haha. I will also try alternating sides. I tend to stick with my more Dominant side (right) as it works best for most everything… but you never know, so will give that a go too. and practice that hollow C 🙂
Thank you ladies, so helpful – as always x

Hello
my initial thought was I probably didn't have enough strength to keep my body away from the pole, if that makes sense… but then I manage the carousel and a couple of others quite fine – which confuses the strength issue. I am pushing out , but I wonder if the spin is starting to put me off and if it's worth trying on static?
I will try post a video sometime tomorrow, of my very failed attempt, be warned for a few "Ouch!" sounds… haha.

OMG! OMG!
Tried out the helpful suggestions here and…. guess what? I nailed it! I did the Gemini. Ok, I held it for like seconds – but it's got to be a start! Thanks girls! XX

I bought some, thinking it helps me stay covered up and will not affect my grip to the pole – and to be honest, they are no good. When mine arrived, they were the really smooth type though. To be honest, I don't think I would bother trying any others though. Skin seems best.

Ah, so I see. Sorry, ther website initially listed in dollars until I saw the bit to change it 🙂 Great looking outfits, cant wait to buy from you!!

WOW! absolutely love your outfits!! Just wondering if there'd be some sort of custom charge for the UK?

Thanks for posting this here, Spinnesque.
As someone who has suffered with Kidney Disease and had my bone marrow affected rather significantly as a result, then having seen people in that time, having bone marrow issues and/or transplants, I would also encourage anyone who could, to sign up to the register. While donating bone marrow does take up your own time, it potentially saves a life – and I can't think of a better reason to sign up.
One small act of kindness can go such a long way 🙂

Today, I have cleaned the pole. I have also been online and found some grip aid, (it never harms eh!). I haven't been back on the pole much as such… I feel very achy and all seems a bit daunting. But I have read everyones replies and have just purchased the first 30 days of Veenas lessons. I have decided against doing anything today and starting the routine tomorrow night when the little ones are in bed. I will do each days lesson every day for the next month and see how I am by the end of that, then purchase the next lesson batch and so on 🙂 Feeling a little more pole-enthusiastic now.
My pole was on Spinning Mode, I've just switched it to static, and am hoping that will help out a lot too. Just one last question for you all who have taken Veenas' lessons…. I've skipped through them all just to see what I'm likely to be doing within the next 30 days and wondered if any of you had got to the lessons where you're doing spins and holds, climbing etc, and found you couldn't do them on the day of that lesson? I am worried about this, and also unsure about if/when I cross that problem, do I keep re-practicing that lesson until it works, or keep moving on through?
Thanks ladies, what a BRILLIANT supportive community you've all got here. So glad to be a part of StudioVeena ! 😀 😀

MemberJanuary 12, 2013 at 4:13 am in reply to: Introduction, need some success stories?Thank you so much Sasha for your response. My arms ache really badly todaay, dont know if thats a bad thing or a good thing, showing that they are getting the muscles there worked. I will look out for some Dvds and grip aid. I heard Dry Hands was really good for pole dancers.
I also find I cling into the pole, almost afraid to pick my feet off the floor at times, hope this gets easier with practice. Taking my hat off to all you pole dancers – it's nowhere near as easy and effortless as it looks 🙂 xx
