I get a Hollywood wax every month (all off) and I suffer SO badly with ingrowns. It got to the point where I can no longer shave without my skin looking red and raw for about 2-3 days afterwards. The waxing is generally fine afterwards but when regrowth starts it is a nightmare. The ingrowns are insane! I used every method possible, I moisturise with tea trea oil and shea butter, I exfoliate and I use salicylic acid as well. But I still end up with distressed skin. So I have begun Laser Hair removal treatment. Can't wait to be bumps and ingrown free soon!

Agree with PoleFitMom. What a horrible comment. Definitely not typical of the StudioVeena ethos. Luckily Lozzi has been here long enough to know that such comments are a rarity on the site. Good luck with the business ladies 🙂

I changed pills recently and while my tummy is not as flat as before, it has deffo reduced. Of course, I also cut out lattes and hot chocolates so that may a contributing factor too.
This is the one body part that REALLY gets me down about myself. It used to be so naturally flat and tight and now I feel so frumpy coz the bottom of my tummy is bigger than before. I'm gona have to start being serious about trimming down now. So if anyone wants to do Glitter's Bikini body idea, then I'm in.

It'd be cool but do you reckon it might make the forum's quieter in the sense that people are less likely to respond and just 'like' a comment/suggestion instead?

Any class I've attended used two per pole. I even had one where they had three per pole but that was ridiculous. I never went back to the three per pole class because they are obviously more interested in profit than actually teaching their students anything but the two per pole was absolutely fine. In fact, I found it good because we had a tiny break between moves while the other student practised so I wasn't getting too hot too fast. It was just a nice breather really! Maybe it depends on how advanced the class is but mine was intermediate and it wasn't a problem at all.

Thanks ladies. Wow sensualscimitar, what happened to your fiancee is HORRIBLE!! If that happened to me I'd be in bits. I'm very grateful they just snatched it sneakily instead of struggling with me for it. That would be awful.
I'm not sure how to go about changing the locks as it is not my property but I have told my landlord about the robbery and am still awaiting a reply. I'm in Ireland so our addresses aren't on as many items as in the US but (and perhaps it's just paranoia / realisation kicking in) I do worry that there was something in my wallet with my address. It's highly unlikely but I'm just a bit freaked out so my mind is thinking all sorts of possibilities. And it is very creepy knowing some scumbag as my name, birthday, picture etc. I'm beginning to feel angry today!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pumpkin.gif

Hey Audball! I'm looking for a 45mm x pole too. My 50mm is a tad too thick for my midget sized body 😛 Did you have any luck getting a used one?
I recently saw an ad on gumtree for one (thanks to Ellierox on here) but it has been sold already. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Really don't want to pay the full whack for a new one though!!

I have been off the pole for almost 2 months now coz of a hip injury. I'm really itching to get back practising, it's been a hell of a year pole wise because I've been sick and injured for a lot of it, I really hope 2012 will be a great pole year for me, with no distractions! I am really excited to get back poling though, even tonight I have already spent hours watching all my favourite pole dancers doing their thing. It's such a pleasure to watch, my hands feel all warm just itching to get back on the pole!! Can't wait!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I had tears in my eyes reading and hearing about this on the news. I cannot understand how anyone could be so cruel. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the images of those bodies by the river, to think he shot those who were already running away from him, so scared. How could anybody do it? Horrible, horrible man. RIP to those lives lost. And love to all those affected. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I agree with HollySatine, Chumpchkin etc. For very sweaty hands some grip aids are essential for securing new moves. It's so easy for people to say they don't believe in grip aids when they don't know how it really feels to have literally no grip at all. I understand why a person would fear grip aids becoming addictive and being unnescessary when their hands sweat minimally but you gotta understand, for some people it's a big, big problem. As a sweaty handed person I must say I find it VERY disheartening to hear people say such things, for me, I literally slip right off and leave beads of sweat running down the pole. I doubt many of you could grip too much if you were you experiencing the same level of slippiness. So while I TOTALLY agree, if you can manage without it that you should try, not all of us have that option. I'd rather use a grip aid and feel safe than lose my grip and injure myself or go back to feeling that poling is something I simply cannot do. Grip issues due to excessive sweating is very, very disheartening.
Anyway, back to the issue at hand, I could barely climb on day 7 so I am in no position to help you. But I wish you luck! Stay safe 🙂

Does anybody know if it's normal to feel an irritated/stinging sensation in the hours following a high swab test? I fell asleep for about an hour but woke up due to the discomfort. Also could it be a reaction to the antibio cream? Has anybody found themselves particularly sensitive on their first day of treatment? Unsure if it's just the infection, the cream or the speculum/swab earlier today OR a combination of it all!

MemberMay 30, 2011 at 5:20 pm in reply to: anyone else have recurring yeast infections? my lady business is a jerk!!!!I am just back from the gyno today with similar issues, I feel terrible about it. (Cannot believe I'd even admit that!!!!) The idea of battling this crap forever is so freakin' depressing. The doc used a speculum and took some swabs which was nowhere near as bad as I expected but she said if it is recurring yeast (not just down there, but in the colon too) that we need to do a Candida Cleanse and diet for 6-8 weeks on top of plenty of probiotics. She said this is far more common than I believed it was and that the majority of her patients have gone through similar things, yet when I google it, apparently it is only 5% of women who get this recurring. My doc does not agree, she thinks this is very, very common and that we shouldn't have to live with it. Even by the massive replies to this thread I think shows how common it must be.
My results will be back in a week or so but even the idea of trying this Cleanse and the probitotics and then it NOT WORKING is terrifying. I think because I've lived with this nonsense for so long I can't even imagine that it'll ever go away. I suffer horribly from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (very severely in fact, I've been to the hospital twice, bleeding, cramping, shaking with pain and even needing time off work where I'll just curl up and sleep for days) and the doc reckons that colon health has everything to do with yeast in the body. I felt like a gross, freak going in today but she said it all comes from having a sick colon and that it's totally normal and that we'll get to the bottom of it and fix it.
I know it sounds silly but THANK GOD I have a doctor like her. I put off those examinations for years and she made it so freakin' easy today. I wouldn't be scared of it anymore, it didn't even hurt. I just really hope she is right and that this will go away eventually. You probably all know how much something like this can damage self esteem and relationships. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
