I'm also working on superman, aysha (which I can get – now chest getting my chest further and further away from the pole), and perfecting cross ankle release. Oh, and dancing! I'm always working on turning all of it into fluid movement. Sometimes I practice spinny, and I have a lot to learn in that mode! It's like starting over!

Good to know! I'll have to start working on knee holds 🙂

My pole is 50, and I love it! I feel like it helps me be strong, and really get moves. When I go to class where the poles are 45, the moves are easier, but I love that I am really building strength at home.

I'll be39 in April. Can I consider my self in this group ;)?

I do go to a studio, but have honestly learned quite a bit from Veena lessons. If you make the effort, set aside the time for yourself, I believe this site will help you get where you want to be! The price for a year of lessons is awesome.

Thanks for all of this! I am working on the splits as well. Not easy.

One word – epidural :). All this talk of pain, I have to remind myself we do this because it is sexy – LOL

I bruise so easily, so that doesn’t help. I will keep at it. I remember when I started the inverted crucifix I thought that was painful, but it got better quickly. This is slower going. I think childbirth was easier than some of these grips 🙂

The new one is funny! Thanks for sharing. I love it when they both go "xpole".

Very cute story! Thanks for sharing.

The two large pieces stuck together the first time I used them – I'm sure I did not use enough silicone to lubricate. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice to take them apart.

And to add a funny comment for Erica, I have a PS pole, and had some issues (very well handled). When I called the customer service line I made sure to clarify – "I'm NOT a stripper, this is for home fitness." Like I need to justify myself to somebody on the phone LOL! Customer service was very professional, it was my own reaction that was funny!

Just saw your question about Platinum Stages. My pole does not need to be mounted, and does not have a stage. In comes in pieces to adjust to different celing heights. It mounts to the floor and celing with tension, and it works great! I was suspicious when I bought it, but it has never slipped.

I have a 50 MM Stainless Steel, mutli piece Platinum Stages pole, that spins, at home. For a few months, I thought it was super slippery. However, I know use a space heater while warming up to warm up me and the pole, and it has made the HUGEST difference. Once warm, the pole is never slippery. If you buy from a reputable maker, I do not think you will have issues. I should mention I had a slight problem when I first received the pole, and the service I received from Plantinum Stages was EXCELLENT. They resolved everything with no hassle to me.
