We all "get it" that poling and stripping are two totally different things. Others are not as enlightened, and I would hate to see a weird sping to this whole thing.

There are times I notice I don't get to 100%. If I see a stall at 40%, etc, I just cancel and try again. Usually goes right through on the next time.

Still cannot do the Rockstar Spin!
I currently struggle with:
Cupid (can hold for about 3 seconds and seems to kill my hamstring)
Spinning dismount
Superman

The advanced moves I do know, I feel like I need to practice, practice, practice so I don't "lose" them – shoulder mount, advanced planked, CAR, etc. Hard to make time for new stuff.

I loved the dance! Your hair is so cute. Watching your performance reminded me how important it is to work on flexy. You look amazing!

I dance for my hubby https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif. He definitely prefers the spinning, dancing, etc. He is impressed by the tricks, but his favorite is just movement. I recently put on a show, and I told him there aren't going to be any good tricks because I am not warmed up and this pole is cold. His response was, "Good – I love the booty shaking and hip grinding!" I will also show him new tricks when I figure it out, and he is always impressed. I think most men are just happy to see you moving around for them. They are not as critical as we think they are.

We ALL have days like this! This is a great place to express them, work them, and come to terms with them :). One of the reasons I love this community of women is we all appreciate our differences, curves, straight lines, etc. We are all beautiful ladies who are working HARD to get a little better each day :). It's okay to have self doubt and bad days. That is human.

I have a Platinum Stages pole and am very pleased. My only advice would be spend the money, and buy from a reputable manfucaturer – NOT the mall or some sex shop.

I would suggest getting P90X. I bought it off of ebay very afforadably ($50), and these DVD's are the best at thome fitness dvd's, especially for improving strength at home.

Looking forward to May — had an idea to dance to a song that is not in English.

I was surfing pole sites last night and saw poleskivies will help with a video upload for $19. Not sure anyone has done this, but maybe she can help with the dancing part.

I just reread my comment! I need to remind myself of this – I'm always thinking about what I want to do next LOL

I do minor editing with Windows Movie Maker. Didn't even know it was on my computer until I uploaded my first video from my Itouch. I have also used my camera in video mode. I don't video EVERYTHING as I don't have the time to rewatch. I think it has been kind of fun to figure out the editing and make a little move. Especially for challenges.

Yeah! I love newbies. Have a fun journey. Remember to focus on enjoying what you have accomplished, and not just focusing on what you cannot do.

LOVE LOVE LOVE P90X. Did it for two years straight. My advice is do what you can. Somedays, you may only have 30 minutes to commit, and that is ok! Just keep pushin' play (as Tony Horton says). Also, definitely record what you do in a notebook. You will see progress.

Yeah! I love my stainless steel pole. Once it is warmed up, it stays in the zone for me and is super sticky. Congrats!
True story – when I was eagerly awaiting my pole delivery, I ran to a ringing doorbell thinking it was UPS, only to find Jehovah Witnesses. If only they knew why I flew open the door with such a big grin!

I watied to commit to classes for different reasons than you, but one day I finally did just make the jump! SOOO glad I did, I will never look back! Cannot wait to hear about it 🙂

The studio I go to has girls of ALL shapes and sizes! One of my fellow pole sisters is probably 5' 2" and close to 190. She is a great dancer! The studio is dimly lit, uses candles, etc to really help set the mood. Classes are progressive in nature, so we did not even attempt to go upside down for 4-5 months! We focus on working our core, buidling strength, and dancing! Once the tricks get riskier a mat is used, and the teacher spots you. I have NEVER felt unsafe. In the first level, most girls wore yoga pants, workout shorts, capri's that you work out in and tank tops. Now that I'm higher up, more girls do wear booty shorts and tank tops, but we are all so comftorable with ourselves and each other, it does't matter! Go for an intro class – most studios offer a one time class to try it out. You will regret not checking it out! Pole dancing is a BLAST!
I go by myself, no friends would join me :(. I almost think that is better. You get a chance to just sit back, and be yourself. Let us know what you do!

Whoever suggested using urban decay magic potion on your eyebrows on this thread is a GENIUS! Thank you!

It is an awesome way to build strength, especially if you work out at home. I'm so glad I did it! There is no way I would have the stength to pole without it. I've just kicked it to the side in favor of my PS pole. I always think about taking a break and letting my bruises clear up, but then I walk by the pole and forget all about pull up bars – LOL!

I think it looks great! Makes me want to go for a trip :).
