ah i see! is the dvd any good? and yes all that matters is you got it and it looks great! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

that move is called a gemini. a scorpio would be if you were in the same position with the right leg hooked instead. in a scorpio the pole does not cross the tummy as in a gemini. but it looks really good!

yes strength will reshape your muscle and burn a little fat, but if you have weight to lose, cardio is what will really take it off. maybe with doctors monitoring you could do just some easy walking but even so im sure strength training alone would help a little https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

hey guys i have the old style xpole and this has happened to me a few times, each time it was because the pole was over tightened to the ceiling or because the pole wasnt set up straight enough. u should just take it down and set it back up very carefully. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

i try to pole every other day. on the off days i try to get in cardio. i live close to a friend and work and a bunch of places i walk to, so thats easy to get in in short bursts. as far as my pole days, i do a warm up-dance and walk for about one song with no spins, just walks, pirouettes, then i’ll do my pole strength exercises, then i’ll do a stretching routine, then work on new moves. i always try to do the move correctly at least twice during a practice. sometimes more than that per move and i’ll get too tired. after that i’ll try to work on my moves adding transitions, basically making it flow. then i’ll cool down with a little dance and stretching again. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

i would say there is too much training and not enough cardio….you should do strength/pole moves on the same day and alternate days with cardio….at least that would be for maximum weight loss…what i do is pole every other day (i also do a strength routine using my pole during practice) then on days i don’t pole i get in cardio which for me is walking and ill occasionally bike ride. i have found this lets my muscles rest from pole while i can still get a good workout from walking on that day. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

sounds like you have a good idea of what is involved with pole dance, so you should know what you can and cant do, maybe just clue your doc in to the situation too

congratulations!

also i thought someone said on a different thread that alcohol can make you bruise easier, so maybe if you’re only poling after drinks thats happening to you, especially in the more sensitive area? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

i do not use one. not that i have not fallen, but i usually catch myself. i feel pretty secure even when trying new moves so i dont find it necessary, although in both homes ive had my pole in, i have to dance on carpet so maybe id feel differently if i had a wood or tile floor looming at me from below, lol. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

jennasmom i totally agree! ive been trying the floor thing the last two practices then later on in the practice ill try a few from standing, crunching my legs up as high as i can while at the same time, kicking as little as i can, but i do step into it. not really a kick tho lol. kinda hard to press the one leg into the floor while lifting w the other! but i think its really working https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif thank you veena!
