i tac doesn't work for me..it gets slippery. Pole Physics (dont use too much, and use it the night before) has been my savor and . (red bottle, dont use too much of that either) I also have to make sure my skin and pole is very warm. sometimes I stand in front of the heater even. I also clean my pole acetone on occasion, and when I need extra grip I wipe "dry hands" on the pole. I like mighty grip for my hands when I get tired cause I sweat a little more and it stays sticky for that.

  • JeHanne…I know this is the wrong post. Have you gotten your brass yet?

  • I've never heard of anti-vert. Is it a perscription? I've only used the Icky-poo stuff, but Unique sounds greats! I have to put a note out for my husband, so he won't forget..but often it will take him weeks before he get's too it.

I have five lylminx and two of them have broken in under a year. There customer service if there is a problem is not good. In a home situation, there are probably fine. But in a studio situation I don't feel they are very safe. The spring broke in one, and the bottom came out in another and dug a hole in my ceiling as I was trying to unwedge it. Must have got lemons. The first pole broke in the first three months. Second broke in 10 months. They would not replace the first one, and they told me to use the hex key that they did NOT send me to replace the bottom on the second pole.

If you try it from the floor you can have your back to the pole and scooch your bum up the pole as high as you can. Make sure you are on a mat so that you dont bruise your upper back. Wrap your legs around the pole and turn your knees medially or inward and squeeze the pole as you lift your body off the floor. Veena has a great lesson on this that I would recomment that you watch so that you can do this safely. If you can't do it from the floor, don't do it up on the pole.

    PS..relative to this blog.

go into a standing Lunge with your thigh under where their hips are.

Place one hand in postion of back of head, other hand on upper back.

Then you can stop the hips from sliding any farther than your thigh and you can push them back upto the pole. Make sure your support the head and upper back in a way that they dont get whip lash.

protect the head. and give yourself a good anchor to keep their hips from sliding down. Example. If you are inverted and someone starts to slid…they are landing on their head. keep them from sliding and keep their head off of the floor, So spot the exercise by figuring out how to make sure if they slide how to get them into a safe position. It's harder to type and easier to show.

cliff notes…if they are going down,,,make sure their head is the last thing to land..push them back on the pole or peel them off to the side..

Do it backwards. I think Veena has a good lesson. Put some cushion down on the florr and do the coming up part. Once you are secure in the coming up…you will know that you can do it on the pole. Have someone spot you the first few times to help build your confidence…Remember to tell your spotter heads and hips… When you come up, grab the pole underneath you to help give you a little more push up. I think most people are scared of that because they stop comeing up for a second and that hesitation is what scares them.. The fall back and the coming up at the bottom. Put a little dry hands on the pole to help you stick if you sweat a little at first.

  • thanks..haven't had an episode in a long while. I did use diuretics and they helped a lot. I know how I feel before I get one, so I am pretty good and preventing them. It seemed like part of it was food related, and another was not resting enough.

  • I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. Vertigo is THE WORST. I got it a few years ago and went to the emergency twice thinking I was having a stroke or something. I was bumping into walls, couldn't focus, and throwing up a lot. They said I had menier"s, or dizzy spells. IT WAS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENDED TO ME. No warning, then you are spinning and barfing. I had them for a few years every once awhile and then they just didn't happen any more. I noticed that my ears rang before I had an episode. I found a little benedryl helped, because my doctor just told me to deal with it and that it was common and would not give me any medicine for it. I hope your Mom's is something simple like that.

  • Hi..I have the metal strip under the mirror. Is that the J mold? you are talking about. I used to "hold" or be the base. When you put your screws in, you need to drill or put a smaller pilot hole first. I'm lazy and always take a nail skinner then the screw and nail it in part way and the pull it out. Use the proper screws for your type of wall. It actually does matter. Studs are typically every 16 inches on center apart. If you can get the screws properly anchored into the studs it really will hold the mirror on the bottom. My mirrors are 3X5 too. The clips are for the top. I don't have mine clipped on the sides. Mirrors have a little flex in them and that is okay, so if dont try to make it really flat against the wall. Not all walls are straight. It this is your own home I dont recommending putting tape or adhesive on the wall. When you take the  mirror down then you have to repair the wall. It's a real art to repair dry wall to make it look nice. If you don't care there is mirror adhesive. You still need to put the track up. You can cut the track with a really sharp pair of cutters from home depot. Ask someone there. Have someone help you put it up so that you can make it very level. They sell little cheapy levels at home depot too, you probably already have one to check you Pole..Right? But the adhesive will probably tear the silver lining on the back on the mirror if you ever want to move it.

A little secret with the screws to give them more strength. Angle them slighty down when you screw them in..so the pointy part is a little more towards the floor. Take your time…measure and level. 16 inches typically on center to find the stud. Your mirror should be fine then. Oh, finding the stud…make some "searching" holes a little above the where the bottm of the track would be so that the mirror will hide them and you dont have to repair them. When you hit something hard and pull out a little sawdust or wood, then you know you have your stud. Measure 16 inches down the line and there Should be another stud. It sometimes is not always the case, so make sure you find them.. If you can find any…then they have special screws for the. I've never used those, but they spring apart so that they get wider as they get closer to the tip..but I really dont have experience with those.

Drills are great, but a good screw driver will be slow work…but will work fine. I hope this helps…if I didn't make sense then just email me again. Happy to help. It's really empower to do some of this stuff your self. I know you can do it, Just take your time

There is one supplement that targets the receptors sites in the upper body more than the lower body. That is CLA. It is not a stimulant. It takes a long time and you have to take a big dose of it. It wont be a significant difference, but it is something. You need to reduce your stress…Fat affects the hormones in your body and belly fat is a sign of higher cortisol levels. You need lots of sleep, water, no caffeine, green tea, no diet pills or supplements of any kind that contain simulants. They will deplete your adrenal glands and that will cause more stress and fatigue. A good probiotic can help with bloating, it is great for the intenstines. VSL#3 by living shield is recommended by my doctor. You can get it costco at the pharmacy because it must be refridgerated.

Be wary of lipo. It often is not what you hoped it would be. The fat will go somewhere else, and it wont be your boobs..since you say you are bigger around the middle I would speculate that it will go to your arms and back… (my experience with lipo is when I was 30 I wanted to have my "second butt cheek" smoothed out. I have a little pouch of fat underneath my butt, it really bothered me. I went and thought the doc knew what I wanted, but he took out too much fat and now 1 cheek hangs lower because it fell into the bigger hole he created under my butt. It looks worse than what I had. It was painful. I figure that is my punishment for being vain.

Long slow cardio helps because it changes your body's chemistry. It will reduce your stress and level out your blood sugar. Make sure your getting enough high quality fat in your diet like olive oil and avocado.

But in reality, Love your body, it works very hard for you every second of everyday. You can't change your natural shape or spot reduce. Wait for the surgery until after you have children if you really want to go down that road. A little tummy on a women can be very beautiful. If we all looked the same it would be a real bore.

  • Home depot has mirrow that you can install for very cheap. I think a 3 X 5 runs about $60.00. They will also have the clips and stuff. A mirrow company will generally charge you around $12 -$17 a square foot to intall a mirrow without cutouts. Mirror tiles are inexpspensive, but the seems might drive you crazy. All mirrows are different, so there will be a lot of distortion. Vinyl flooring can be a from a sustainable product and is very durable. If you did vinyl tiles you could replace the worn or damaged tiles individually. It is also a great DYI project, and some of the tiles look great. I have cork flooring in my studio and it is very soft and scratches. It is also more exspensive then a lot of other flooring materials. Staining concrete is beautiful, but you would be surprised at what a process is it. It's not cheap either.

    Best wishes

Try cleaning with acetone then rubbing some dry hands on it. Make sure it is warm too. Also, wash your hands first and be mindful of what type of products you used on your body and your hair. I found I was getting moraccian oil on the pole from my hair and it made it very sippery.

Ice and Rest…Get a second opinion …you might be strong and weak at the same time, ie. Large global muscles strong and intrinsic stabilizers weak.
