Bob Cooley’s "The Genius of Flexibility." See if your library has it. Resistance stretching is changing my life and body totally, Roxy-Pink’s too from what she says.

Sissy and all you other ladies with piercings in your ladybits—

(First of all, well done! Braver men than I am for sure!!)

If you do tail sit the way Fleur describes, going from pole sit, leaning over to one side so the pole ends up on one butt cheek lodged behind your sitz bone, then drawing knees in to chest and opening legs out into a v from there, your ladybits should come nowhere near the pole. This move takes a lot of abs and your arms need to be straight when you do it.

Same with bum slide. In the handstand, open legs out to a v, then MOVE YOURSELF OVER so the pole is in your inner leg cord, not your bits. Then roll your pelvis to bring feet toward the floor. I love this move and do not have super flexy hamstrings. Give it a try!

Wanna know a funny story? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Poletential is very proud that we have a part-time fill-in instructor named Jasmin. Jas is from Australia, used to teach at Bobbi’s. Really, we’re so blessed, she’s just stunning.
Anyway, Jasmin showed this move to Fleur. She didn’t know what to call it, but said that a dancer from Australia named Allegra (who just won Miss Pole Dance Australia) did it. So Fleur decided to call it the Allegra.
And Fleur did it in her winning USPDF routine!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
It is funny how it has been popping up all over the place the past week or so. Call me biased, but Fleur does it best! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Tine, the book has a few great stretches for hip flexors. I’ve been doing these stretches inconsistently for the last 2 weeks while I’ve been fighting a virus and already I notice a huge difference in my every day flexibility. Buy the book and give it a try! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

"Freya, who co-owns Brassy Butterfly in Portland with me, can attest to all this. I highly recommend the book and the method."

Coco! I had no idea you were on here! I’m Ellen, Freya’s friend from Poletential in NorCal! Nice to see you here!! I’m so excited to hear you use these methods too. xoxo

YAY Roxy!!! And everyone else, I really believe you’ll find that as useful as Roxy and I have. I’m not even stressed about stretching anymore because I am confident that with these techniques I can get as loose as I’d like. (I’ve had a cruddy virus ever since Karol was here and so haven’t done a darn thing but I will be back to it soon!)

Go Roxy!! My mom is a lung cancer survivor and a former smoker. You can do this. And when all of NC goes non-smoking in January it will be even easier to hang in there. You can do it!! Imagine how nice it will be to taste food again. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

If you happen to be in North County, you’re only 45 minutes from OC Pole Fitness in Aliso Viejo. Fantastic place!!!

good descrip, georgia. dayanara, yes, you definitely want to push your hips forward. once you grab the top foot, start pushing hips forward and arching back. then you can take off the bottom hand, bend the bottom leg back, and connect. this move does not lock in until you arch. and yes, it definitely hurts the top leg calf muscle. you get used to it tho! good luck!

Because my vid cam battery died I also wasn’t able to take photos. It was an a/v disaster. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
But here are two iPhone pics.photo.jpg
First one is Amber’s cheering section.photo2.jpg
Second one is me, Amber, and Pam (Poletential co-owner).
Shirts read "Amber Rocks the Pole" (She had no idea, was totally surprised to see them on us!)

Ps. My clandestine video attempt totally failed. And there was no pole at the afterparty, insurance certificate snafu. Otherwise, a perfect evening!

I promise you all I will write a long summary when I’m not on my iPhone and have had some sleep. Amber (fleur) was amazing. The competition was great, the ladies were so talented. In addition to the expected awesomeness of Leigh ann and estee and zoraya, we were blown away by Lisa and Lindsay. The difference was that Amber danced. Others did tricks. Amber integrated tricks into
a choreographed dramatic routine. One of the judges was Carmit, former pussycat doll, and she told us it was Ambers choreography and dancing that pushed her over.
She did wear heels, many didn’t. And her long routine was to another way to die. Short was to pretty by the cranberries. More to come soon I promise!
