tarah, any pressure mounted pole should be taken down monthly to give your ceiling a floor a chance to resettle.

my hair grows extremly fast. I'd guess in the last year it has grown at least 4-5 inches. Its part of the reason I went back to dark hair because I was having to dye the red color every 6 weeks or I'd have 1/2 inch of roots.
I'm sitting here in rollers because I'm going to a burlesque workshop and I refuse to have straight hair. And really don't want to put on a wig.

I'm not fond of my hair at the moment either. I'm growing it out, its grown to below my shoulders but it is stick straight and I don't like straight hair on myself.

MemberMarch 9, 2012 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Recommendations for Spinning/static poles for studios with questions about ceiling height.poledanzer poles are very nice, they are what I'm getting for my studio, Empy has them in one of hers and I know a few others that have them. My rafters are 18ft however I'm having a dropped truss put in so I can do the poles at 14 ish feet because I really don't like the bendiness you get with a 18-20 ft pole.

I think I'm going to get the yoga direct one and then get the black cover.
-
I personally wouldn't want that thin of a mat.

I just started using the FC5 got it yesterday with my fizz tabs and chocolate chews which I can't live without. I honestly have liked every product I have used. And to qoute Aerial Amy "the protien drinks are the only ones that don't taste like barf" LOL
Have you tried making the protien bars? I keep meaning to and not doing it. But with opening the studio I'm going on a big have to eat better thing. I fell off the wagon when mom got sick last year and haven't been good about it since.

the other one folds up in 4ths 😉 however it is much thinner.

chem is the queen of the search function 🙂
I personally agree with Chem, 8ish people per teacher for a pole class.

Re-9 rocks! I sell Arbonne too 🙂 Dani which of the lotions are you using?
-
yeah that is some of the same stuff I've heard 🙁 they do sell a black cover for over them on yoga directs site not sure how much that would help?
-
it appears to be only 1 inch thick? that isn't very much padding!
sparrow why don't you like the yoga direct one?
-
lol Amy!!! I need you to send me a pic of you with a container of Arbonne protien shake with the caption "because it is the only one that doesn't taste like barf" on it 🙂
-

-

MemberMarch 6, 2012 at 6:30 am in reply to: What do you ladies think of this new x-stage/star stand alone comparison that just came out?I found a few things amusing….
1) the thing about the set up time. While PS does take less time its because the pieces just snap together instead of fastening. Well to me that says while x-stage takes a few minutes longer to put together it is more securely put together.
2) the part about the legs for making the x stage more stable. Although the legs out can cause a trip hazzard they don't have to be out and it is nice if you do want them they are there. They are not even an option to make the ps more stable.
3) plastic vs metal pie plates. I will say you can make quite a bit of noise on the x stage specially with heels on (lol 8 inch platform boots in Detriot a few years ago) when the music is up its not really a big deal.
4) using the fact that the pole just pulls right out of the base as a selling point WTF??????? yeah because that looks safe to me…..NOT.
I tried to tell myself not to get involved in this debate again…

44 here and started when I was 39. Sort of lol. Didn't pole much for many years so my "flight time" is way less then my years.
-
FiyaStarta had my booty clapping with in minutes of meeting me in Jamaica and I though my booty would never clap. Still have lots to learn though so I need to get the DVD.
-
I got one with the battery operated base. I suck at using it though. Sigh.
