PDR there is an Eylane Angel approved one in Detroit, just saying! I thought about having my nipples done while I am there this week-end but I'd have to have them done Saturday and I don't think pastie twirling is recommended a couple of hours after having piercings done lol. He already told me I'm not a good canidate for a fourchette which is the other I had been thinking about.

the vertical hood is not a hard one to have done. I have my hood and triangle done at the same time by an Elyane Angel approved piercer (which is why I went 6 hours alway lol) My piercings have only caused me pain twice and that was from my triangle. I had an open ring and somehow durning sex it got twisted half way through the hole which meant the large ball was pressing on the nerves. OWWWW. after the second time I happened to go to detroit for a pole function and went to my guy and had a stone put in to close the ring. now it doesn't pull through 🙂

I didn't have to worry about poling right after having mine done I wasn't poling yet. I touched a pole the first time a few weeks later 😉

Michelle Mynx who is like the queen of the teddy and teddy variations told me to really get that hip out in front. If you look at pictures or video of her her whole butt is in front of the pole and actually sort of tilted up, its mainly her spine that is in contact. She stay in that arm hold for forever and changes her leg postions and I just love it.

I'm getting the gelish starter kit for 25 on amazon and a light that you can do both hands or feet at the same time for 54 from there as well. I think it is worth the extra funds to be able to make the job take less time.

actually it only hurt for a minute or two.Literally the worst part was the moment the needle went in. by the time he put the jewerly in it already caused a bit of a good tingle. Was a bit sore for a day. The triagle which is the one that goes behind your clitoral nerve bundle is a bit ackward to get they have to be able to pull your clit UP and put a clamp on it to be sure they get behind it. If they hit it or the nerve bundle it is extremly painful and will continue to be painful if jewelry is put in it. It is incredibly important for these peircings to go to an expert piecer. I had mine done in Detroit by a wonderful guy there. The placement on them is perfect. I drove 6 hours home with them freshly done and discovered the ridges on the side of the road took on a whole different outlook lol. I will say I was sort of prone to UTI's and they make that happen easier so I try to take cranberry tablets on a regular basis to keep them at bay. I have been lax in that lately and sure enough spent the first part of last week with one.

I wanted to get a fucette (sp?) but my skin in that area already rips easily so i don't think it would be a good one for me.

ulta and box stores are starting to sell the polishes too, bit cheaper then gelish but they are smaller containers. Mom is buying me all the stuff to start doing my own we figure with a decent light it will end up just under 100 bucks. However since mine have to be done every 14 days (my nails grow super fast and even doing vintage half moons there is too much growth after that and I have found they start to peel) I figure since I pay 30+ tip I will be far ahead shortly.

the classes I was in that had one per pole I never saw anyone else do a trick because we were all doing it at the same time. I didn't care for the way the class was format at all.

and I'm envious of PDR being able to go to Michelle's studio 🙂  they all share 2 poles and they are the most fun closest knit group of people I have ever come across.

there were only 3 other girls in the classes I took with us each having a pole. There was so little interaction it was actually sad. I never got the "I got to go out and have fun poling with the girls" it was more I could have gone and worked out with weights next to my neighbor and had more interaction 🙁

My studio is going to have 5 poles with max 8 students.

I've taken classes both ways and I prefer sharing a pole. I actually think sharing helps promote bringing women together. When you don't share a pole its too easy not to mingle and help support the other ladies. I can't even tell you the names of the girls in the classes I took (a couple of sessions with the same girls) where I didn't share a pole, but I can for classes that I only took 1 lesson and shared a pole.

I have always had "thick" thighs. I rode horses most of my life. Thick doesn't neccessarily mean "fat" which seems to be what most people are equating it to. Thick thighs can be musclar thighs and muscles are a good thing! I was 118 lbs with a 20 inch waist and my thighs were a whopping 21 inches around EACH ONE! And I can tell you at that point in my life there was not an inch of fat on those thick thighs!

I would kill to have that body back too lol.

sorry didn't mean to be a Debbie Downer. And it can be done somewhat cheaper then what I'm doing if you can find the right space to rent for the right price. But the reality is you do need to have enough money for seveal months rent, insurance and the poles. I crunched numbers a lot over the last year in my debate over whether I wanted to do this or not. One of the big things on the plus side for me is there is only one other studio near me and its downtown and I'm on the east end. She is doing well but a lot of people don't want to go downtown at night to take lessons. I feel good that there is a market here for a second studio.

Another possibility, I know Charley used to rent a studio by the hour that had ceilings she could put xpoles up and down for her classes….if you can find the right type of space.

to give you an approximate figure of what it is costing me to open my studio….15,000.00. And this doesn't inculde my certs I've taken over the years. Can it be done cheaper?, I'm sure it can depending on size of space ect. I also put in some things that can be done without, like lockers in my dressing room, bought a laptop, installed laminate flooring. I can also tell you there are a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff that I WISH I had for the studio, but I had to make choices.

I wouldn't open one in my home too much at stake. I seriously doubt a pole insurance company will cover you for teaching from your home. Your homeowners for sure will not.

As Chem said I'm in the process of opening one now. I have leased a space and just put in pergo type flooring. I basically want to live at my studio, which is good because I most likely will. My rent is very reasonable for this area and I was able to get a bigger space because of it. Before even thinking of opening here are some "opening" costs to factor. By no means a complete list and this is sort of bare bones…..

Rent- most places will make you pay first month and a deposit = to another month. You most likely will not be able to hold classes for at least a couple of weeks until you get poles in and studio set up. I suggest having at least the first month and deposit PLUS at least 2 more months. (so if your rent is 900 a month you need to have 3600 set aside just for that)

Utilites- unknown until you talk to the leasing agent. I would plan on 200+ per month for a small space.

Poles- this is hard to know until you know how high your ceilings are ect. But just consider if you were going to use Xpoles they are 330+ shipping mine are tall and single piece mine are about 500 from poledanzer. so if you do 5 poles 1750 and up…

Insurance- if you go through insurance4poledancers (highly reccomend) approx 500 a year paid upfront.

you also have to set up as a business which varies highly from state to state.

music licensing (varies by how many of the companies you sign on with and how many students you anticapate having)

yoga mats for floor work can be had pretty cheaply.

sound system this can vary a lot. I just got a really really nice system my stepson found for me on line (he is in music) for 200. Its flipping awesome he likes it as much as his 1400.00 system lol.

other considerations? what has to be done to the place? floors? (these cost us 2,000ish with us doing the work) paint? (our landlord as part of the lease painted and did new carpet in the offices) structure for poles? (this is costing me 2,000) Chairs for people to wait on? ect so on.

Certifications? I'm certified in CPR/Frirst Aid/AED (110.00 I did both adult and peds because I'm a girl scout leader) AFAA group cert? (400+) pole cert? (varies)

Not trying to talk you out of it but that is an example of what opening as studio costs lol. there are tons more "little" things that add up too!

acidbarbie, I have two poles on my vaulted ceilings a xpole and a mynx. My favorite is the Xpole. The only reason to not have a regular pole on a vaulted ceiling would be if it was a really high ceiling.
