I love it and people never can believe my age they always think I'm much younger. They also have a line of product for people with acne problems, I don't have any personal experience with it, but I just ordered a couple of sample packs (I'm a consultant for arbonne's line) for my niece she is having terrible breakout problems. I like arbonne because it is botanical, natural and vegan (no animal fats or petrolum on my face or body ick!) But one of the keys to just about any skin care is to make it routine day and night.

it has taken me YEARS to learn to point my toes. too many years of riding and bending my foot the opposite way. And my "cute" genie slipper feet do not help lol. I'm finally getting a handle on them though. I take a multi vitamin with minerals to help with muscle cramping.

grrrr I still haven't recieved mine. How long did it take your order to get to you? I'm worried now because my postman has changed and has been leaving packages out by the gate. I hope they didn't do that with this package and it disappeared.

the little minx is just "that freaking slippery little minx" most of the time. The x-pole is just "the x" But I don't name cars or anything like that either…..

my favorite pole to dance on is the brass one at a local club. Nice and grippy. I have NEVER had it leave black marks on my hands or skin. and have never noticed an odor from it. I'm a freaking star on that pole I will try all sorts of new to me things on it because I have the most security on it. My least favorite is my stainless steel lil minx. its been named the slippery minx in this house I won't do anything but real basic things on it unless it is hot and humid in the house (not right now lol, its about 50 in my pole room) then I can finally get a grip on it. I like my x pole chrome, and have been on the titanum gold but didn't see enough difference in the grip between chrome and gold to pay the extra price.
Different peoples skin will grip different poles differently.

that friend was the very beautiful and talented chemgoddess herself 🙂 and I think she found them on craigslist.

lol chem, that is after all why I'm a nymph!

I use the plain black ones like that minicoopergirl and while they are better then nothing they really don't help all that much if you fall from an invert. I was lucky and a very dear friend got me these cool mats that are chair cushions for an umbrella bench. looks just like a round pole mat with a hole in the center and everything. they even velcro together so they don't slip out from under the pole like couch cushions (which my couch doesn't even have lol) and they aren't quite as thick as most pole mats but they are pretty darn nice for at home use and used with the black gym mats even better!
and thanks again to that friend!

I would say you don't have it balanced and tightened enough. Veena has a tutorial on how to put one up watch it it might help you.

not all condoms are made from latex 😉

On my old computer I had links to about 6 different mats/vendors. I wish I could access that info again!

I'm wierd, I prefer to pole when my husband is here. I feel like at dance better. and I try new things when he is around to spot me or help with hand positions. Of course I have no where else to pole then at home so there is that too. we also do jillians shred workout together in the am when we get up.
one of my favorite things to do if I don't have to work at night is after the kids go to bed while he is on the computer is go put on something cute, put on some music and start dancing. I usually have his full attention by the end of the first song 😉 computer or whatever he was doing totally forgotten.

MemberJanuary 2, 2011 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Do you tell other people that you pole dance?most everybody in my family knows I pole dance. and they know for me it isn't just about the fitness it is about the sexy. the people at my husbands work know which is funny because he works as a civilian contractor for the army and has an office full of PHD's and the like. They think he is lucky lol. my dad seems ok with it, but we really don't talk about it much. my sister hates it but she is a closed minded prude.
My job not so much since I work with a bunch of dumb guys. they would never let the subject alone if they knew and it would make my ultra ultra conservative boss very uncomfortable knowing. although my days of keeping it a secret will come to an end when I open my studio.

hee hee lady garden I like that term..although barren garden is more like it in my case. Unless you count piercings….

and I'm the opposite of Journey, I love the sexier dancers they are the ones I'm drawn to. but I can watch the more pole gymnastics type and marvel at how strong they are how hard some of those things are to do.
other pole people though that leave rude comments is what makes some of us leary of posting vids though. Like myself. Yes I have a few out there. Yes I go more towards the sexy side. But I'm also not the most polished or advanced dancers out there. Bad comments from Joe Shmo wouldn't bother me. But from someone in the pole community the would.

It is hard. I work part time outside the home at a big box store. I own a horse boarding stable which requires tending everyday. I have two kids 8 and 6. Husband. and started selling Arbonne (natural 100% vegan skin care and make up) and am trying to finish my certification for teaching pole dancing. I would be much farther then where I am if I could squeeze in more time to pole. Couple that with until recently NO local studio near me and the one that is here now just offers beginner classes and is 45 minutes each way for an hour class….
I changed postitions at work a few weeks ago so I'm very hopeful to get in more pole time since I will have a more set schedule. The cold temps in my house will fight me a bit, but working on trying to fix that too.

I agree Charley. just because it isn't what floats our boat doesn't mean we should sink their boat.
this was brought home to me in Jamaica by one of the other dancers. Her style is so not what I like. But after having spent the week in her company it was so HER style and fitted her personality so well I had to admire it.

different things work better or worse for different people as veena pointed out. and depending on room warmth, pole finish ect.
some products to try (some you will have in the house)
I love itac. but I like to dot it on the pole not on myself (karol helms saved my butt literally in jamaica by letting me borrow hers for the showcase)
gel shave cream
corn huskers lotion (good for people with dry skin not sweaty!)
these work well for me, however I will say I have the driest skin on earth. if you are a sweaty person might not work well for you at all.

lol you and I are going to have to learn to proof read before submitting now Chem. I do the same thing at times write it post it and go…what the heck did I type??? I blame it on the kids sometimes part of their homework ends up in my posts because my fingers type what I'm telling them, not what I meant to type.

lol I can't even think of what I used to watch as a kid….I'm so not a TV girl lol.
we'll see, I'm going to start making myself make more video's.
