I have a stainless lil'minx and find it to be very slippery to the point that I think my nieces boyfriend it going to take it and have a friend that does cars powder coat it for me.

ooooooo I like the wood look ones! I use black ones under my pole sometimes over the carpet. I really want wood though for the pole area because I prefer to dance in heels.

chemmie all my sports bra's have underwires. I like the ones by Mita that come in pretty colors and patterns. However for the OP I don't know that they make them in larger sizes, I'm a B well headed back into a C. The problem I have is if they are tight enough to hold well they are such a pain to get on! And better back off…….I feel like I have to dislocate my shoulder to get them off.

as charley pointed out a consideration is what type of poles you will be dancing on when your not at home. Competions in the us tend to be on 45 or 50. If your used to only using a 38 you are going to struggle on a 50. What few places around here have pole to dance on when we are out at clubs they are 50 or larger. I've never seen a 38 anywhere I have been.

I prefer a 50. I can and have used a 45 but to me they are a bit harder to work with not as much to grip. I can't even fathom using a 38, I would never be able to do anything that required thigh grip, I have been riding horses for 33 years and my thighs don't meet at the top…

ok got to watch the stretches one last night and while I like the stretches and can see where they will for sure help with pole moves, I too wish they didn't just show the countdown clock when you are to be doing the exercises.
-
duh just watched it and my last statement was pretty silly……lol
neat idea veena, might have to play with that for some fun shoes to match outfits!

I have on occasion dressed up my clear heels for special days with metallic stickers. I did them with pots of gold and 4 leaf clovers for st patricks once, kind of fun because you can peel them off and then put something else on or just wear them clear.

MemberFebruary 3, 2011 at 3:44 pm in reply to: New tricks-you get them, then you don’t?!happens to me all the time, specially when I'm taking workshops with top instructors then I come home and can't do a thing I did when in front of them.
The WORST was coming home from a Karol Helms workshop and private lesson then having my pole throw me to the ground with every move I tried…..even ones I had been doing for years. My husband found me in tears trying to rip the pole out of the ceiling. Darn thing wouldn't budge lol.

yay they finally came today!!!!
Don't know if I will get to watch them today, it is already 4pm and I have silks class 7-9 then I work 10-6am….
-
did you watch veena's video on how to put it up?

After silks class on sunday I had lovely bruises already coming up by the time I got home. I did arnica them right away after getting home but I still have lovely bruises everywhere, although not as bad as they would be if I didn't arnica them right away….
and vamp yes I take iron, but I have to or I'm anemic all the time.

I've been thinking about filmming more now that I have the new pole area which is in a less cluttered part of the living room, however I'm also afraid that if I do I won't want to keep dancing…I tend to tear myself apart.

I should have mine monday or tuesday. there was an issue with the way I signed up for my account and ordered there. It comes up and asks you for a user ID and password like you would do to open a forum account. Well that showed up as my name! looked like fraud. long story and a couple of phone calls and we got it sorted outl

yeah its weird how different types of compitions (pole, horses, bodybuilding, snowboarding whatever) decide what is pro and ammy.
-
in the horse world you are a pro if you give lessons or train horses for money…….

Hi! yes I have a pretty good wig collection lol and adding to it all the time. You for sure do not want the halloween ones, they tend to not be shaped right and are not easy to work with (i have several and truthfully they don't get worn because you can never make them look right) I tend to get my wigs locally, I'm a try on sort of girl. I have ordered one on line and it was pretty nice. I usually pay around 25- 45 bucks for mine locally depending on the length of the hair. If you find a manufacturer you like then you could search for that vendor on line.
If you are planning on dancing in them, invest in some "wig" tape (double sided tape meant to hold clothes or wigs in place usually you can get at a fabric store) and practice dancing in one because even though I wear one a lot they do change things, and you don't want them to come off (I plowed right out of one one night…..one minute I had pink hair the next I didn't. And wigs with long hair if you normally have short hair are "weighty" which takes getting used to as well.
Its amusing you posted this, I'm trying to figure out when I can get downtown to my wig store for some pin-up and burlesque style wigs.

ok true confession time. My FIRST album I bought I got at a yard sale. I can't tell you who it was because I hated the music. I bought it because it had naked people on it (and yes chemgoddess I can hear you laughing from here) just going to prove I was always a bit of a naughty nymph.

I love the ITac 2 karol saved my butt by letting me borrow some in Jamaica. I have also tried the level 4 (thanks for the sample peter) and it is great for GRIP. however I couldn't spin with it on to save my life. But I do use it for trying new inverts where I just plain want my hands to not move at all. Because those puppies aren't going anywhere until I pry them off the pole. Great for doing ab crunches on the pole too.
But I rarely sweat on the pole, My skin is Extremely dry.
