those are interesting and might work for some of the others in the thread. I would need way too many of them to do the area I'm looking at doing because I have two poles in my living room and I want to have the same surface between poles.

I just did my test for group fitness through AFAA waiting on the results. I'm also in the process of getting my Pole certification through Empy and her courses are approved through AFAA.

@Glitterhips – and if she still won't budge just start bringing the pole to family functions https://www.studioveena.com../../img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I did that. I took mine on our disney vacation. My mother and mother in law are NOT the problem in my life. it is my sister who was on my vacation with us. She has gone on for MONTHS about she doesn't know why the "stripper pole" had to go on her vacation. Well #1 it was MY vacation. she invited herself and her husband along. My in laws supplied the condo. It was nice having them there to help with the kids. #2 I never poled in front of her or her husband. My pole time was while they were in their room or the day they took the kids to sea world. 3# I can not help it if she is the biggest fudy duddy in the world.

the only spinning PS pole I have been on was in Jamaica and that thing was wicked fast. Like spin you into oblivion fast.
interesting thread though for those that are installing poles for a new studio 🙂

It would take a lot of convincing that they had before I would get on one again. I actually lifted charleys off the ground doing a fireman spin on spin mode.

hugs sweetie, I can't imagine having that kind of relationship with my mother in law, that would suck big time.
I take my pole (s) down for no one. I had my minx up during my step daughters wedding rehersal dinner.

if you don't pole in heels the puzzle mats are good, although for the same price or cheaper you can get the same thing in solid colors in the sporting goods department of most places like Walmart, cosco, sams.
I practice in bare feet but when I really want to dance need my heels 🙂
my carpet is old so I don't care that I'm taking a chunk out of it for a dance floor lol.
-
I have some of those but they are not really good for dancing in heels. We decided last night to cut the carpet up in the area around the two poles, then put in a cheap pergo type stuff. I would love to do the whole floor since it is my great room however there is water damage over by the bar that would have to be fixed first and neither my husband or I have the skill to do so.

I'm looking at changing a space about 8ft by 12ft.

just did some goggle searching on that and the biggest one I could find was 36 x 48 iches. and close to a 100 bucks 🙁
I think what I'm going to do is use plywood cover it with peel and stick tiles and hook them together somehow. I figure I will need 6 pieces of plywood and tile to cover.

heck I'm not a newbie and I would kill for that skill!

can't wait to see your July performance, I know you will rock it!
-
You did great sweetie, its about having fun anyway! and I second the we are our own worst critics. I hate watching video of myself because I KNOW I can dance better then any performance I have ever done. in most of them I screw up basic inverts which I can do in my sleep. Heck in Jamaica I didn't even TRY to invert because I knew in my mind I'd mess it up. My point being we all know we can do better and we all get off the stage and go now why didn't I do move a,b and c?????
I hope to come up in July, I miss having time with other polers!

I've ridden and shown horses for over 30 years. HEELS down has been drilled into my head for 30+ years so dispite the fact that I wear heels all the time when I dance I have to remind myself to point my toes instead of push into the heels. I have no dance background until starting pole about 4 years ago. I'd love for pointed toes to become natural to me (and they are its just taking time) I was blessed with high arched "genie" feet I'd love to show them to the perfection they deserve.

no VIP room in the club we go to, no lap dances either. They make their money on stage.
its jusf funny, the rest of the girls (including the waitresses see us come in and they are very happy to see us lol except one. and she would rack up on the tips from us if she didn't have a chip on her shoulder.
-
lol her loss, we tipped her well the first night we went because she did really pole dance. She had an awesome routine, some really nice tricks. But even though I like watching her perform the other girls get more of our money now.
and yes chem that thought had crossed my mind as the reason as well, which knowing me is pretty darn funny.

I don't know why she ignores me, the rest of the girls there love my husband and I. They come sit and talk with us invite me on stage (which I haven't done yet lol) but this one girl is plain rude to us…
-
depends on the club and on the dancers. Our local club only has one girl that can rock the pole. Although I can tell that she is self taught, Not that there is anything wrong with that. Most of the rest at best they can climb and maybe do a layout. Some are interested in learning more, some are not. I miss going to the local club, some of the girls there are very sweet to me. Ironically the one whe can dance ignores me totally which is stupid on her part because my husband and I tip well for tricks.

bummer! I love doing lessons with Michelle. Hoping to get to St. Louis soon.

x poles should be taken down and cleaned and your ceiling should be allowed to resettle. It should most likely be done with a minx too, but I can't get mine down for love or money.
