I sandpapered the heck out of my stainless steel minx. Was the best thing I ever did for it. Well second best, the best was I bought a chrome x pole and now they are both up in my living room. Much prefer the chome. I still Itac the heck out of the minx if I'm going to use both.

Xpoles are rated for much heigher weight then the lil minx. I have one of each in my house. I love my x pole 🙂 the x is chrome which is grippier. The minx is SS which for me is slick as can be. My x has spin mode which is fun and doesn't make that "clang" noise the minx does from the double tubes.

they are usually held at a studio or some venue that is rented and poles put up in. We just gather and have a good time poling and watching each other. Most of the time they charge a small fee for rental of the studio but not always. Sometimes they are limited in how many people based on size of room or studio. Sometimes they are held at bars that have poles as well.

Can't wait for the Midwest pole jam next month (which happens to also be a fund raiser!)!!!

Jillians book is great, I am known to have a sluggish thyroid so I make sure to eat more foods that boost thyroid and less that drag it down.

I'm a semi-clean eater lol. I try to do mostly clean eating but when things like girl scout cookies come around I don't deny myself. 🙂

minicoopergirl since you have had C sections they usually go right through the c section scar and you don't have further scaring. Or at least that is what I was told, since I also have had two C's. It was something I had considered at one point but have shelved that thought. If I do anything it will be just lipodisolve or similar and I'm doubting that at this point.

yeah that is one I wish I could follow (not eating before bedtime) but on nights I don't work overnight it is pretty impossible we don't eat until the horses are taken care of which puts dinner between 8 and 8:30. We get up to work out at 5:45 so bed is usually 10.

my weight goes in cycles. working out hard I put on a few pounds until the addtional muscle starts calorie burn, then I drop. Then I tend to increase my workouts and go back up a bit. My tape measure and body chart are my friends. When my scale tells me I put on a few pounds and the weight tape says I lost inches we can all be a happy family. But i don't obsess over my weight. I'm pretty sure I could now fit in my wedding dress from 10 years and 2 kids ago.

I'm not a stress eater so I'm not the best on that one. I get stressed i have to force myself to eat or I will go days with only drinking chocolate milk. When I get stressed I also tend to get real active working out, doing things in my barn ect. That is a good stress reliever so is a good thing, you also can't eat while your working out 🙂 and if you are going to stress eat at least try to make it healthier foods.

Another big tip is to not bring junk food home, it it isn't there you can't eat it. And take stuff with you wherever you go, if your like me you'll be less tempted to spend money on bad for you foods if you have good for you foods with you lol I'm cheap that way.

And most of all just don't let yourself get discouraged!

the 4 inches was in more like 6 weeks. I have now lost more then that and lost about 17 lbs. went down over a full size (from 8's being tight to 6's being loose) I'm a lot stronger and poling is so much easier both with the added muscle and less weight. I'm now doing Jillian's ripped in 30 workout needed a change.

you should never go all day without eating. It triggers your body that you are starving and it goes into fat storage mode. small amounts several times a day is much better for your metoblism.

As far as for long term healthy eating try eating clean as mentioned above get rid of sugars, white flour, processed crap, booze and soft drinks. eat good for you foods. Have a spluge now and then, I don't really say a splurge day, if I'm going out and know I'm going to eat out and have a couple of drinks I eat "healthy" during the day as usual then have a "splurge" night. Or in a couple of weeks we are doing a doughnuts with mom's at school. I will go have doughnuts with my kids. The rest of the day will be healthy. Working out on a regular basis helps too 🙂

Oh and I'm not a big scale girl. Why? muscle weighs heavier then fat. If your working out and building muscle the scale is going to go up. I go by measurements and how my clothes fit. When I started adding the Jillian 30 day shred to my routine back in October I didn't lose a single pound. I however lost 4 inches of my waist….I'll take the 4 inches and stronger muscles for poling over pounds any day.

I have very dry skin and just started using it about a week ago and my skin is different already. I'm able to apply and pole right away but that is not what is reccomended.

The only thing I don't like is the pump, it only gives you a tiny squirt with each pump and even though a little goes a long way its sort of annoying.

I was complaining to my husband that after having child #2 I needed to get back in shape (I have ridden horses and been fit most of my life) but needed a fun way to do it. He bought me Shelia Kelly's begininng dvd. I threw it on the self and didn't touch it. I was again complaining about needing a fun workout and he reminded me of the tape. I told him it couldnt be much of a workout but to prove it to him put it in and did it. Holy cow the next day I couldn't move. I admitted it was tougher then it looked. That is just FLOOR work. I found the S forum and was posting there a couple of months when I was lucky enough to be selected to fly to LA and be part of an infomercial for the DVD set. It was there I got to touch a pole for the first time, and met a bunch of fantastic ladies. We were in a bit of a tough place money wise so a pole wasn't really an option at the time. The wonderful ladies on S unknown to me were raising money for me to have a pole and one of the girls gave me a pole and the money they had raised went to shipping and the vautled ceiling adapter I needed for my ceiling. I spent time at home over the next couple of years learning on my own. On a trip to San Fran did some more S factor lessons. But for the most part I learned on my own until last year. Last  year was my "year of pole" I went to Chicago to study for teacher training with Empy (which by the way I highly recommend her program for teacher certification!) in June. Went to Detriot in July for workshops with Karol Helms pole jam and (because Empy made me lol) performed in a showcase. In August I worked more on my teacher cert with Empy, did the midwest pole jam and showcase including a workshop with Gravity Plays favorites (wayyyyy over my head but fun anyway) in Nov I went to Dance Wicked and got to take a lesson from Michelle Minx, Leigh Ann Reily, Fawnia, Karol Helms, fyrestarter and with the lovely burlesque dancer Lola Van Ella. (which I also highly recommend dance wicked for a fun vacation that involves pole!) performed in the showcase there too. My husband is my biggest fan and greatest supporter. There is only one studio in town and its downtown (I took a couple of lessons there too last year) and we are going to open one on the east end of town 🙂
