Even if you do get the right position it will hurt like holy-I-do-not-know-what for the first month or so. Also expect lots and lots of bruises on the inner thighs. I still get the bruises sometimes even though I’ve been desensitized to the pain.

Veena, that’s my first experience with the jade drop as well. Luckily I tilted forward and my foot hit the ground first. i’ve been too chicken to try it since.

It happens to all of us. It’s hard sometimes to confront the move again after wards. I fell out of the caterpillar climb pretty badly and it took me a while to get the courage to try it again.

I’m having trouble envisioning how to go from brass monkey to lunchbox. The pole is in front of the body in the first and behind in the second. Any tips or videos?

I find my back to be doing a lot of the gripping, really wedge the pole under your arm and press your back up to it.

wow! Honestly, I was never that excited by the pole mallakambe the boys do. I found the movement a little unrefined, impressively strong and daring but unrefined. But I doubt grace was something required for boys. But THIS, this is beautiful. These girls are so strong, brave AND graceful.

From the anecdote in this thread it seems like random full body rashes/hives are rather common. I’m not as embarrassed about it anymore, but the flaking still looks hideous!

Prncsopowr: Yes, the rashes were symmetrical. And now the dry rough patches are symmetrical as well. I’m taking benadryl daily because I have horrible hay fever this year anyway, maybe it’s just an extension of that.

smb1989: I’ve been slathering on the aloe baby lotion, I’m hoping to see some improvement soon.

onepinkprincess: I hope you feel better soon too! My thighs are the worst part as are the outside of my arm. Too bad we rely on our thighs so much with the pole.

I WAS a bit frustrated that the doctor just told me to wait it out and didn’t tell me what type of virus it is, but he was a walk in doc and they really just want to get the patients out as fast as possible. I have an appointment with my family doctor next month, so I’ll bring it up with him then as well. I doubt it is an allergy to the metal because I’ve had my pole for a long time, but one of my co worker who was there when the rashes started said it looks like what her sister in law gets when she eats shrimp which she is allergic to. I took 2 benadryls just in case but they didn’t; help. I still think it could possibly be an allergy to something.

Peter, I ordered from the itac2 australian website (although I’m canadian https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ). I didn’t know about the website specifically for pole dance. Should I be ordering from poledancegrip.com in the future? I haven’t received my order yet though, but I can;t wait.

Yay, a perfect guilt free excuse to check out Mikey.
I can’t get a ride out to the west end this time though. Is anyone heading that way from Scarborough? I can make my way to Scarborough Town Center, Fairveiw, or Markville to be picked up/drooped off and I’ll help pitch on gas. Let me know.

Wait, maybe I’m confused. But the videos on my camcorder are already very wide, it’s mostly cutting me off at the neck, it’ s too short. I’m I using it sideways? The vidoe I’m takign are right side up though. Sorry if I’m not sounding very clear, I’m not very useful around electronics.

I went to the Sony store and I was told a wide angle lense only makes it wider, more panoramic. My proble is that when upright, the veiw is wide and short. I’ll go in and see if Ican get a second opinion.

I would feel uncomfortable with her holding my hands on as well. I think she should be spotting around the hips and waist. I had an instructor once who "spotted" by holding you onto the pole or into position with sheer strength, I HATED this. It never gave me the chance to FEEL the move and the relation of the pole against my body. I think a good spotter is someone who you can feel safe with and trust, but she/he should also trust you to do the move, not do the move for you.

The weather reports have been teetering back and forth for tomorrow. I bet they are wrong. And if it does rain, it might be one of those short afternoon thundershowers just enough to cool everything off for some poling. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and my outlook positive.
