    Hiya!

Thanks for your reply! From a twisted grip hand spring I can go into ayesha and from there into straight edge or straight edge- Ayesha- back to straight edge.

From an invert, I can’t get as far as to let go of the pole with my legs to go into a straight edge, I haven’t tried going straight into an Ayesha.

    So frustrating! 🙂

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your tips and ideas.  It's very much appreciated 🙂

I was told by my pole teacher that I tend to arch my back and head instead of keeping my chest and face aligned with the pole and my hips leaning away from it.  I find it quite an awkward position and upper arm is trapped… so I think I might need a bit more direction on this move!

For the falling star, I have not idea if it's the pain inbetween my thighs but I tend to slide off the pole with that move too. That is equally as frustrating!! 🙁

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your input and advice.  Looks like the most secure way is to lift slowly in a deadlift way?  The problem with that is that it very painful on the neck as the way I lift myself up securely is pulling the pole into my neck bit with my arms to create that pressure lock. 🙂

I haven't yet got a subscription to see the veena grip but will do soon!

Hi guys! I just wanted to report back (and thank Empyreans suggestion) it turns out my upper arm was too high up the pole. As soon as I moved it down closer to my upper leg, I had enough strength to turn around and not get stuck! The only challenge I have from this is holding the pose as my legs quickly drop and the pain from holding yourself in that position is painful! I’m guessing this is one of those moves you have to keep practicing to build up resistance between the thighs?

I remember having trouble just doing a pole sit as it burned my thighs, but I practiced sit each day for a certain amount of tme and increased each day! Now I can do it without feeling pain! X

    Hi guys!

I'm new to the forum so hope you don't mind me digging up an old thread!

I'm currently learning the superman move, which I was taught to get into from what my instructor calls the midnight kiss pose aka shooting star, where top leg is hooked and bottom leg is straight.  When I try to turn into the superman, my thigh of the top leg gets stuck to the pole and I can't push through to turn myself around.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or is it just a case of keep trying to push the top leg through? I've not get learned the pike hip hold yet.  I'm sorry if my description is not clear, I'm not very good at describing positions!

    Thanks!
